A SFD. Some housework done. 77 more items de-cluttered. Moved the bed and two wardrobes. Working on DS3 to persuade him that I should have the small room and he has this big one. Due to my de-cluttering I only need my bed, one set of drawers and a small shelving unit (with lots of boxes/ small drawer sets and some wooden containers on it).
Love the personalising your demon synonymous. Think I have a whole seven samurai of demons. I have been struggling a bit this week, just feeling useless and rubbish at everything. Might have been triggered by DS3 doing his accounts - he made more money than me last year and his income isn't great. he earnt less than I would have made for the year's rent on this place but that income dried up last Summer.
However I have made progress today and will just keep plodding until things start working out.
Today I am grateful for hot baths (DS3 had run it but it was too hot for him so he let me have it), that I only had sons (had a visitor with a 'baby' voice, made noises I haven't heard outside a cartoon) and for finally getting things done.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

...oh that will all emerge! Promise, but for now; I live on my own, I have a 21 year old DD who lives close by with her BF  and my BF lives a long train ride away!
I am just about to leave my full-time job and go into a part-time one and I am trying to get a small private practice off the ground and make up for the lack of salary in other ways...all in progress but not bringing in any dollar for a while. I have promised myself that I am going to have 6 weeks just working part time - and then work really hard. I work in the NHS and feel really burned out right now. I have plenty of debt and May is definately going to be tough finacially!3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000

Back in Blighty after travelling through the night and a 6-hour time difference. Friday just sort of disappeared!
NSD count is just 4 so far. Today I have to do a food shop so not another one yet. But plenty of washing and tidying ahead of me, so lots of fun!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Hi guys
Sorry for the radio silence... I have been avoiding YNAB for days and adding to the spending with my eyes closed so didn't dare come in until I had explained myself fully and inspected the damage. I have however come in way under budget!! :j:j I thought the groceries was totally blown but when I categorised the receipts correctly, a heck of a lot of it came under 'birthdays' as we made the cake ourselves after getting quoted £43 and £40 respectively for a one tier iced viccy sponge with peppa pig on it *faints* - so we made our own!! And there is enough icing and ingredients left over for another cake for my own bdayand probably more besides.
Totals in my sig. Today is a SFD :j going nowhere!
Thanks for the lovely wishes and happy birthday's. Jelly had an amazing 3 day extravaganza. Cake was a brilliant attempt by me and her daddy. First time I have ever tried to ice a cake let alone create a peppa pig :rotfl:
Synonymous I am very interested in your demon..I must go off and think of mine..
In the meantime.. I leave you with this..

Lilt that is fab! I want one! Glad Jelly had lovely Peppa related celebrations, and am v. impressed on the cake-making front.
Welcome back applemuncher, hope you had a lovely holiday visiting MIL, and welcome DrCarrie! I too am defecting from the NHS, returning to full time student status in September for primary teacher training, ironically to earn less full time once qualified than I do currently working 3 days a week. But it's about increasing my job satisfaction, not my income, I'm the wrong side of 40 and I don't want to regret wasting my last years in employment doing something I no longer love..... Which ties in nicely with one of the points on Lilt's pic! Good luck with your private practice plans.#21 Save £12k in 2025 £12577.35/£20000

Hi everyone and welcome home Apple and Fmess
Stewby, wonderful news about your MIL .
Synonymous, love the demon thing :T Mine is drivingI'm terrified to drive. I passed test nearly 20 years ago, but as my ex loved driving, I let him do all the driving. I must have drove the equivalent of 6 months in my whole life and 4 weeks of those were in Florida and Las Vegas a couple of years ago. I just get all nervous and clammy and cant relax at all. Ironically, my drive from the airport is OK as I have to reach villa or hotel. But anything after that its the above
I wouldn't mind so Much, but I do actually want to drive, but am terrified
Mothernerd, how you could ever feel useless, i'll never know, you've always done so much, lol.
Lilt glad Jelly, had a wonderful birthday and well done on the cake :T The verse is lovely, I love things like that. My diary I use to record all my debt busting has something along those lines.
Bob, so glad they are all coming along like buses nowGreat that trade
Is picking up.
Well thankfully, the final coat of paint in the hallway has been done, so just the woodwork to do later this evening. As much as I love this place, a Victorian hallway that Gordon forever, has pushed my body to its limits :rotfl: Oh and regarding the flooring, myself and middle son are going to tackle it and see how we get on. As he's a perfectionist liketheir dad, it should be reasonable at the end
Today, I haven't spent anything yet, but as operation hallway is still underway and budgeted for, I may well do later.
Well take care everyone and enjoy the rest of the day:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0
