It's fine, I'm on a decent wage.
I don't think I mentioned anywhere I couldn't afford vet treatment.
Whatever wage you are on, having to fork out THOUSANDS if something happens is a strain so suggestion about getting insurance is a very helpful one.
PetPlan is the only insurance that covers dental care - in case you decide to take up insurance.
see https://www.animeddirect.co.uk for worming/flea treatment etc - fast free delivery , also https://www.vetuk.co.uk0 -
It's Tuesday! :j

Earplugs & a good nights sleep is what you will need to buy once you get a cat.
You can't buy a good night's sleep anywhere though0 -
UPDATE
There was a change of plan & I collected her Monday.
Problem, she did two poos on my very furry rug.
I had bought the White crystals litter, so I bought some cheap bog standard litter today.
Do you think that's it?
She's one in May, so if she's dirty :-(
I couldn't see any wee in the rug, but I couldn't see any in the tray either :-(
Help!!!0 -
Are you using the same litter in both her trays that she had before? Do you have a feliway running?
It will be very difficult to adequately clean the rug enough that kitty cannot smell poo, same with urine.0 -
I'd hide the rug for now. It's quite probable that it's just the trauma of living somewhere new that's set her off toileting in the wrong place. You just need to keep bringing her to the litter tray until she's got used to it. Good luck.0

Keep reminding her where her tray is. Also keep talking to her so she gets used to your voice (this worked really well when I got my cat ... she was also 1)
Do you mean you don't think she has been for a wee yet? Mine can hold it in for about 18 hours!!0 -
Have you got her confined to one room?
If not, def do this for a few days - it's very traumatic to go to a new place with unfamiliar smells and sounds ..... being in one room, with everything needed in one place can reassure them a lot
Try to spread the litter trays - ideally 2 (with different litters in just now to see if one will be favoured over the other and def 1 with the same litter as she's used to), food bowls and water bowls all away from each other
Most cats won't like litter trays near their food / water and many don't like their food / water near each other either!
Re the rug - agree it's probably a stress thing and I'd remove it as well at the moment

Found the wee, when I rolled the rug up.
It's a beast of a rug, it's about 8 foot x 6 foot of pure wool, or weights a ton & is a good 2 inches thick.0
