    Afternoon all

Happy birthday Annie - hope you have a great day.

Hugs to all in need today.

Been so hot here this weekend - spend Friday and Saturday at the beach - DD's were in the sea constantly which has really tired them out. Yesterday we popped to Mr T's and Lidl and spent the afternoon hiding in the living room with the curtains drawn as it was just meltingly hot. Put the girls swimming pool up when it had cooled down and had a lovely BBQ whilst the girls were swimming until around 9.30pm.

Just popped into town to grab some flea and worm stuff for the cats, was overcast and muggy when we left but the tide's have just changed so it's now blue skies and a lovely breeze. DD's are just about to jump in the pool so I'm going to have a half hour sit down before starting the ironing.

My shopping budget's gone out the window this week - need to do some serious re-jigging of the budget to sort it.

DH's parents have suggested moving down this way and buying a house big enough for us all to live in - saving us a lot of money per month on the rental we pay but I'm not sure I could live with them - ideal as a short term money saving scheme but I think I'd end up strangling someone.

Dinner tonight will be salad, new pots and gammon.

Hope you have a great afternoon.

    Good afternoon all

kyle - im sure it was mentioned not long ago, that someone said about a 60th celebration, is to arrange 60 unusual things/day outs. Something you wouldnt normally do. It doesn't mean to say you have to send Twink on a sky dive or bungee jump, it could be like days out, like a museum, theatre, ice-skating or picnics etc,

I know you like doing your crafts, but what about doing a scrapbook, 60 pages long, trying to cover her 60yrs.

I think Dlb is sorting out 60 £1 coins for her dad's 60th.

Sorry, I dont mean to pinch other's idea's, but I haven't got a clue. My mum never bothered with her 60th this yr. She wanted a BBQ, but it was left too late to organise it. I thought she was 60 next yr! ooops!

I did something similar to this for my friends 40th birthday - i bought 40 presents, mostly silly, little things like paper with her name on, charms with her initial (also denture tablets, hair dye etc as a joke) and nice things like chocolates, smellies and jewellery. It was wonderful seeing her face as she went through it all - i really think she appriciated it.
  • Afternoon all...............happy birthday Annie, have a good one and ((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs one.

Yesterdays junketting went off ok, got back k******d just after 7pm and promptly fell asleep on the sofa missing the last Heartbeat for the series!!!!!

Lottie this morning, not too bad, had to water, but there was a breeze so it did not get at me as it did last week...............just had my friend Em up for a cuppa, she is on her own and gets a bit lonely, makes a change for her to come out for a while, I think I would go slightly doolally if I was in a studio flat with nothing much to do except watch what goes on ourside the window.

OH has started another jigsaw, I need to finish the table runners I started for Christmas presents, have another project I want to get on with .....but am not starting it until I have got the runners out of the way. No bowls this week, so no me time.

Chicken and salad for supper, got sausage out of the freezer for tomorrow, might do toad in the hole, have some cabbage that needs using up........
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Petrol £10.00

    Dia Dhibh!

Happy birthday Anniebooklover:bdaycake: have a lovely day.

DDs2&4 have gone shopping with their children, so only OH and me here...then DS2 arrived...was his birthday yesterday but he had celebrated rather too enthusiastically on Saturday so wasn't fit to drive yesterday. Pleased with the bedside lockers we bought him...took us for pub lunch, which means I won't have to cook later, might do couple of hm pizzas for a late tea.

Raining here on and off, one clap of thunder earlier but seems much nicer now...I can even see blue sky! Some washing out, more to hang and to wash, will get to it at some stage. Have been stir-frying chicory in the same way as DDIL1 does, with sesame oil and oyster sauce drizzled over, very good, akthough think that it should be whiter, may cover some of it to see if it whitens up...lovely then with grated carrot and orange juice as a salad.

Still getting on with fuchsia cuttings, lots more to do, picked some buddleia from niece's garden in a colour I didn't have and it seems to be taking too.

Bank holiday here so nothing much happening, brother has just called to say that if it stays fine he will do a barbecue around 7...not sure I can eat againg, but I suppose I could go and just have some liquid refreshment!

Hugs aplenty to all who are in need...Pinkwinged, Anniestar and Queenie...thinking of you all, hope that you are ok.

    hi again,

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes - I really appreciate it. :o:D
W**k wasn't too bad as the phones were particularly quiet today. :j So was able to work at quite a leisurely pace but still managed to get loads done.

Have bought myself a little bottle of sparkling chardonnay to have later. May give DS and DD the teeny-tiniest drop in a glass with loads of oj - they gave me a bucks fizz as part of my Mother's Day breakfast and thought it looked very extravagant.

Plans for the rest of the day are to do whatever I feel like doing, whenever I feel like doing it.

Cat your win spurred me on and I have now entered loads of comps on the comps board.

Had to phone and complain to the flower company about my parents' flowers as they STILL haven't been delivered (was supposed to be Saturday). They are "looking into it" and will call me back. Not a happy bunny as the bouquet was NOT cheap.

Off to put my feet up and enjoy this afternoon sunshine. xx

    Hello everyone

Happy birthday AnnieBookLover, glad to hear you are having a fabulous day.

Still no kitten...:confused::confused: My friend keeps making excuses when I try to make arrangements to go and collect it. The latest today was that I phoned up to say I was on my way - she said that she and family might be going into town and that she would phone to say when they had arrived, and I could join them there. That was at 11.30am, and I, being a fool/mug, have sat in all day long waiting for a call which so far hasn't come. I am really rather annoyed now. I was supposed to get this kitten on Friday evening, or Saturday morning so that I could be here with it for four full days (off w*rk you see) to get it settled in. That's that plan out the window.

It has rained off and on today - actually it was a gloriously sunny morning, but being such a dope I left the outside jobs for "later". Gosh, that makes me sound busy, hehe. I haven't done that much really, just a bit of faffing about downstairs with a duster and putting stuff away. The window and car cleaning will get done tomorrow.

Congrats to Catowen on your latest win, you seem to be on a bit of a roll. You have inspired me to get entering some competitions and draws, so have been clicking away on the relevant board.

    Bye for now.

    Snowy
