Well I have had 2 coffees so far this morning, did an action song CD with littles and thats it. I WILL do something in a minute. The girls currently have about 50 books scattered all over the lounge floor and are playing some strange game that only they seem to know the rules too :D:confused: . So will be setting timer shortly to see if they can pick them all up in 3 mins;) .

They want to go to the big park and although it will only take us about 20 mins to get there, there is no loo:eek: ! So 20 dash home to the loo is a bit of a nightmare. May suggest that we make piggybanks (funnily enough the link Michelle posted I had spotted in a library book yesterday), maybe one for sitting in the garden doing!

Right 5 mins while they listen to the story CD "Room on the Broom".

  • Hi again all,

Sorry i didnt log on yesterdya, i was quite busy although if im honest i did B**gger all to do with flying really,

Early eye test appointments with both DS's, (what fun!) Luckily no glasses needed, unfortunalely me and OH need some, (were supposed to be ready for collection yesterday and they weren't:mad: )

Then my Dad was here again sorting my disaster of a bathroom, so i didnt really do much, spent a lazy time not doing much at all, spent some time with the boys chilling, then made some home made macaroni cheese for all our dinner and it was yum! (but highly calorific, bang goes the diet AGAIN lol):rotfl:

The day before i made a lovely recipe which went down very well indeed, Leek and cheese couscouse cake and it was lovely, i actually am not a bad cook!

Today i have to go back into town for our glasses:mad: and i need to get my eyebrows shaped for my holidays;) , then hunting for some things for the boys activity bags, to take with us, these are usually a godsend for the long journeys, and contain things like colouring books, magazines, stickers tec, things i can just pull out and keep them quite for 5 mins!:p

Then after that i have loads of washing etc to do in preparation for packing, but i am a bit worried now cos i rang the owner of the caravan and she is in hospital, (pregnant and havin a few problems) and the guy i spoke to said he knows nothing if our booking! I immediately started to panic as we are supposed to have received our 'welcome pack' today containing all info and address etc and the keys are supposed to arrive tomorrow! So guys what do you think i should do? The man i spoke to asked me to ring back today and he maybe able to find out some info for me!

I dont want to seem insensitive but i have 2 boys counting the days till we go away and now it might not even happen!

    SORRY PEEPS rant over!

Anyway i better get something done, brekkie for me before i keel over would be good!

Seee you all in a while

    feisty!

p.s hope you are all well and those of you that have been a little under the weather etc are feeling better

  • Morning all,

Phew - I'm exhaused! It's a combination of far too much fresh air yesterday and then trying to catch up with all your posts this morning!

Had a lovely day yesterday: we left the house just before 7 in the morning and got back at 10.30 in the evening. In between we drove half way across Scotland just to help one of our friends take a boat through 9 miles of canal :o . Still it was worth it as the route is unbelievably scenic and it was good just to slow down the pace of life.

JillD: I don't know how you are coping - you've got so much on your plate at the moment. If you are still thinking of doing the oat baths to calm down the chicken pox you could put the oats into a cut off end of an old pair of tights (if you see what I mean). Then put the ball of oats into the bath and squeeze it every so often. That way you get lovely soothing oat-milk - but no bits all over the bath.

Sexymouse: Congratulations - it must be great to have the certificate actually in front of you. How's the job hunting going? Any more good temping jobs come up recently.

Hugs to everyone else who needs them - and I'll be back later once I've looked at today's list and made a start.

Feisty - I don't think you are being insensitive. I hope you get good news when you call them back, have you got any confirmation of your booking (email, cheque cashed or something?) you could mention to the guy. Could you ask him if there anyone else you could speak to who might know more about it. I'm not sure what else to suggest, Good luck!

PS Your couscous cake sounds yummy - have you got a recipe you could share?
  • Hi again,

    7 Week Wonder

I have a receipt and the deposit was done via paypal and remaining balance via cheque, the receipt was supposed to arrive today with my 'welcome pack', fingers crossed its going to be ok

Here is the recipe you wanted, you can add different thngs aswell to make it a bit different, think i may add bacon next time, i also used some flavoured couscous and bulgur wheat as i didnt have plain couscous.

    Cheesy leek and couscous cake

    300g/11oz couscous

    2 leeks sliced

200g/7oz cheese, (make sure its a good melting cheese) pref cheddar or smilar

Little bit of olive oil for cooking

    Salt and pepper

    2 eggs whisked

Put couscous in a bowl and add 450ml/ 3/4 pint of boiling water, stir and set to one side to absorb all water.

Heat the oil in pan and add the leeks, (i also added some garlic:D ), cook on a medium heat until softer and a little golden.

Then remove with a slotted spoon and add to the couscous, then add the cheese and any extra ingredients you may want to, then the eggs and season well.

Reheat the pan with the oil and add the mixture, dont stir it, pat it all donw into a pie type shape and keep moulding it with the back of a wooden spoon to keep the shape, i did this for about 5 mins on a medium light, then pop under the grill on medium again for 5 mins, then repeat the process of on the hob then under the grill, until it starts to go golden and firm.

Then cut into wedges with a wooden spatula or similar (so as not to sratch your pan!), serve and enjoy! YUM SCRUM!!:D :D

We had it with buttered leeks and cabbage and potato gratin, also had some left the following day so ate it cold!:p

Hope you like it folks, im gonna make another while we are away (hopefully) and then take cold wedges out with us as a snack/picnic, also gonna try adding different stuff next time!

    Bye for now

    Feisty!
