OK - my last post for the day. I am just having a bit of a pampering session. Had a nice bath, done my legs and bikini line, and now painting my toe nails while watching my Charmed DVD - saddo or what? I must be going through a 2nd childhood as i never paint my nails, must be all the free time i have now from flying.

I have finished the clothes packing, and just have a few things to put in food wise and etc for Charlie tomorrow. SO i can be pleased with myself for another day of flying.
    • [strike]make butternut squash and lentil soup for dinner[/strike]
    • [strike]wash a load of my dark stuff[/strike]
    • [strike]wash the shower curtain (have had to take down as charlie swung on it and broke the rail)[/strike] now going to be stored in the garage
    • [strike]deal with post[/strike]
    • [strike]sterilise and make up bottles[/strike]
    • [STRIKE]pack other bag for going away[/STRIKE]
    • remember to pack [STRIKE]DH's parents house keys,[/STRIKE] and [strike]theatre tickets [/strike]for Saturday night (going to see Lord of The Rings)
    • [STRIKE]iron rest of my stuff for going away, and DH's shirt[/STRIKE]
    • [strike]wash my black top for going out on Saturday[/strike]
    • [STRIKE]disinfect Charlie's bath toys - getting a bit gunky[/STRIKE]
    • [strike]get out cat boxes from garage for taking cats to cattery tomorrow am[/strike]
    • [strike]find out cat vaccination certificates as above[/strike]
    • [strike]sort out cat food to send with them[/strike]
    • [strike]wash the cover off Charlie's bouncy chair, and also his sun hat[/strike]
    • [strike]get out travel cot, mattress and sheets[/strike]
    • [strike]cancel all my stuff for sale on amazon[/strike]
    • watch rental DVD will have watched part of, but will need to finish watching tomorrow before sending back
    • [strike]get info about salary sacrifice from friend[/strike]
    • [strike]email head of department about performance management[/strike]
    • [strike]put cat food and certificates in my car for morning[/strike]
    • dismantle baby bouncer to take with us DH will do tomorrow
    • [STRIKE]hoovered porch, hall, and stairs - removed all the dust webs[/STRIKE]
    tomorrow:
    • empty bathroom bin, kitchen bin, and put compost out
    • drop cats off at cattery
    • pop to Morrison's and get a few bits for Charlie to take with us
    • sterilise and make up baby bottles
    • pack up last few bits of toiletries/bath mats/bath toys/everyday toys/steriliser/baby food/baby milk
    • wash a load of baby bibs loaded in WM ready to go
    • wash my 2 pairs of jeans, TD and pack
    • post back rental DVD
    • get some cash out
    • hoover landing/bathroom/our room/charlie's room
    • hoover livingroom/dining room/kitchen again
    • make an appointment to open Charlie's a child trust fund
    • send off for salary sacrifice stuff
    • transmit shop and scan data
    • make chicken in white sauce with pasta for tea before we go
    • clean up kitchen
    • dismantle baby bouncer
    • get DH to pack his razor
so looks like i will also be busy tomorrow, but then may get some rest on Thursday and Friday as in-laws have got days off work to spend with me and charlie while DH works in Brighton. Hence the need to do my legs as they want to go swimming.

Will be around tomorrow, and will try to pop in while i am away to keep up with it all.

JillD sorry to hear you little one is suffering. There is an old wives tale (well I'm old and a wife and I say it) that if you catch the pox from somebody who has it mild you will get a bad dose and vice versa.

I used homeopathic remedies when mine had it - rhus tox is the main chicken pox one - should be able to get it from chemist/boots. Re scarring - all of mine have a couple of scars from the biggest spots (king spots my mum called them) - usually these come out in the first main batch and are the angriest ones. Mine found that as the calamine dried it made them itchier. Hope you get some rest, hopefully you are hitting the worst and it will improve from tomorrow x

  • Gosh I can't remember the exact recipe for the "glue" in fact probably in desperation just used plain flour and water and the last layer was fixed with PVA glue.
I remember putting a diluted solution of PVA glue and water over the whole thing to seal it as well.

Jill - breast pads - i can thoroughly recommend the boots own brand washable ones. I had some disposable tommee tippee ones my sister gave me, but they were too absorbant and made me leak terribly, but the washable ones were cottony, and i had to wash them once before use to make them soft and pliable, but then they were great, and only a few quid.

It looks like you would rather be making stuff, but i often think for a few quid, and with all you have going on, it might save you a bit of time.

cheers for that michelle, never thought of boots. Just cant bear to see that mattress protector going to waste though LOL
Well done on your flying. lucky you being able to reach your toenails LOL and have a great holiday

Thanks debbie, sounds messy which is just what the kids like! Have had to cancel seing a friend on Friday - she has 6 month old twins no way does she want chicken pox in theor house so this will be our Friday afternoon activity.

dusty - read about that rhus tox, dyou reckon it works then ? might pop upto boots for that as well. well DS caught it from DD, she had a really mild dose and he is anything but mild so would have to disagree with you on the old woves tale. I wondered if prolonged exposure sharing a room on hols meant he got a worse dose (did I say that already, getting deju vu ??). Anyway as I understand if you have it badly you are less likely for it to recur so hopefully this will be it for him.

beckie - you need to get that list into more steps of smaller things so you can start crossing off and feeling good! good luck!

    Better get to bed really

JillD sorry typed the tale wrong - too tired - I meant to say catch it from somebody mild and you get it bad and vice versa - will change my post.

I think homeopathy can work for lots of things (but not all) so am happy to use it. You never know really if these things work or not but worth a try.

Sorry sorry sorry, was supposed to post before we went out but my internet went poo poo on me, not long been back on, todays list (seeing as it's past midnight) now up.

Will have a quick read through now, hope everyone is well. Penelope Penguin great to have you back with us, sounds like a lovely holiday. Borderlakland, it'll be over before you know it, hang in there. Embb welcome back too :)

Becca hope the little one is ok, horrible when they hurt themselves isn't it.

JillD like I posted, my sons had them 3 times before he was 4 years old. He had them bad every time. The paed who seen him (he was diagnosed by a doctor first time but seen paed on routine appointments the last 2) had only ever known a child to get it twice. When it went round in June here I was checking him daily, school warned me as soon as it was going round, if he gets it again paed said he'd probably have to go for tests in another hospital and some sort of immunity therapy, saying that he's ALWAYS catching other things, especially colds, his immune system is poop like mine. Fingers crossed this time he didn't get them but I'm always wary now. DS1 only caught them the third time he had them, he was overjoyed that he had them the first night as little bro had them 3 times by then, by the next morning of course he didn't want them any more! With the immunity testing, my friend's little ones had it when she was pregnant and when she went to the GP they tested her, so just thought they might have. All midwives have to have immunity checked aswell I think. Oh and the bit about your Dad, bloomin' heck he's been through it a bit hasn't he, bless him, give him a HUGE hug from me, poor guy.

mumoftwo - Ikea boxes, seriously all I have bought is these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/57192396 I use them in the boys room for toys & books on cheap wooden storage racks, DP pinches them for in the shed aswell, for 79p each you can't go wrong, I bought some more the other day and have snaffled 4 of them for my tins cupboard, just happened I used one when emptying the cupboard and it worked well. Can fit 12+ baked bean style tins in one with them sticking up a bit out of the top, you can put them in stacked without anything tipping over, I can fit 4 on one of the big pantry shelves :D Made my cupbord tidier and much more organised. I'm going to get some more for packets etc, I'm sick of cupboard that fall onto me when I open them, maybe I should just cut down the stocks, but I'm a horder and I just know I can't :o

Sat giggling about the pinging bands at kids idea, my DS2 is a little devil for pinching bangs and twanging you with them! Postie gives him them.
One day I might be more organised...........
