Computer keeps restarting

  • It could be that the battery on the motherboard that powers the bios needs replacing, maybe try that if nothing else seems to work.

no safe mode is "safe", you wont lose pictures when you use it.

it just means a minimal set of drivers will be loaded.

Tried safe mode but have now come to the conclusion that it's the minute I go online its shutting down more so if I am trying to install software.

Does it show a window on the screen saying it's going to restart, possibly with a countdown timer?

    Try this
go to the start button then control panel then system advanced theres 3 boxes in there performance.....user profiles.....startup and recovery.....go to startup and recovery then settings select system startup then system failure go to the 3rd box "automatically restart" uncheck this and try
Disconnect your internet before doing so to avoid the system interrupting you.
Another possibility is an old virus "blasterworm" if the above is unsuccessful try googling blasterworm and downloading the fix.

Together we can make a difference.
  • Probably not what you want to hear but it could well be your memory module/s. I personally had an unbelevable string of problems with my PC at the start of the new year and spontaneous restarting was one of them, eventually convinced the manufacturer it was duff memory (it was still under warranty) and the PC now works like a dream. You could try running a free program called MemTest which'll test your RAM for you. Hope it all gets sorted for you. ;)
