Well for starters your wrong with Sturgeon having a higher salary than Cameron.

The latest vote to increase MSP's salaries by 0.7% was not taken up as the MSP's continued their pay freeze since they got into power in 2008.

Never mind though, your incorrect soundbites make you think your getting the upper hand

The salary of the post of scottish first minster is higher than the british prime minister. i.e. £144,687 for the first minister and£142,500 for the PM of the UK.

whether either take their full salary is another matter

The key fact is the SNP voted for the increase in a disgraceful display of furthering inequality.

What makes me chuckle is that someone that purports to be from the far left of the spectrum. Has employed a personal shopper in the past. Are the SNP truly connected with their support. Or just a single mission party as one suspects.

    Final prediction:

Conservatives will be the largest party but only by a handful of seats. Labour will make small net gains but Labour + SNP will fall just short of control.

Support of Lib Dems will be therefore be required in order for Lab to form a workable government; however, Clegg loses his seat by less than 100 votes so there is a delay whilst there are a load of recounts before it is confirmed that Clegg is gone. The Lib Dems are then rudderless and unable to decide who to support and there will be a big mess followed by another election.

Oh for gods sake. Glad you find amusement in such trivial things.

Someone who delegates minor things, employs a person to do such and leaves the First Minister to get on with far more important things.

No doubt, Cameron, Milliband and Farage all take time out themselves to pop down the the Saville Row tailors.

Yes, they voted for a 0.7% increase and then also agreed to not take the increase as they have done so since 2008.

Way to focus on a non issue, complaining about an increase they have not taken in the last 7 years.

Way to go criticising MSP's who have frozen the received salary since the start of the credit crunch.

Just goes to show how little you guys actually have to complain about.

    1) Salary increases that they do not take

    2) Employing someone to go clothes shopping and allowing them to dedicate their time more efficiently to the job in hand.

My word, you guys are so petty, it's unbelievable

Nevermind, I hope you feel better for it and hope today's results doesn't give you too much angst

I don't think there is a right answer to that question. Ultimately people almost universally vote for their own best interests, even if that isn't immediately obvious. For example someone who may get benefits cut under another Tory government, might vote Tory because they think they'll manage the economy better and protect pensioner benefits. Some would say that was voting for societies best interests, but if their actual motivation was "I don't want to go through another financial crisis and I think I will have a better pension because of this" then it's clearly motivated by self-interest.

I want a lot of things that on superficial inspection would sound selfless. However, as much as I wouldn't mind being seen as some paragon of virtue, I know on some level I think they will make the world better and overall that will benefit me, my family etc.
