Who will win the UK election ?

SPOILER ALERT
The conservatives will win a slim, although ungovernable majority. They will get in bed with UKIP and form a coalition.0 -
Apparently political correctness is not required when criticising UKIP.
Interesting that Blair has come out for Milliband, it would appear that Blair's political convictions are much closer to Cameron.
Tony Blair is a much misunderstood man, married to someone with even more left wing credentials than his own, although both describe themselves as socialists.
Despite all the positive things he has done, he is feted to be remembered for specific mistakes that people claim he made.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

I never realised being a BTL Landlord wasa particularly "socialist" thing to do

Tony Blair should go down in history as the man that came up with the tip top plan of turning the Labour party into a perverse offshoot off the conservative party in order to gain power, I think he called it gaining the middle ground.
Trouble with his "All things to all men" style of leadership was that Great Britain no longer had a pendlum where it could swing left to right or the other way around when needed. The rich and greedy loved Tony Blair, and his only form of socialism and of helping "the needy" was helping the lazy and idle along with allowing 10 million mostly unskilled rag tag immigrants into the country.
The biggest unspoken for group in the UK today are the average WORKING man/woman who work hard at trying to pay their way in life, they lost their voice decades ago when the likes of Tony Blair came on the scene.
I am personally left of centre in my beliefs, even though there are times when I try and fight it. But I have more hate for Tony Blair than I did for Maggie Thatcher, at least that woman made it clear.. I STAND FOR THIS, if you do not like it vote me out.
The worst thing that could happen in the UK right now in my opinion is an outright winner, another 5 years of just kicking the can down the street. Nigel Farage put it perfectly, "what we need now is to throw everything up in the air and start from scratch".0 -

I don't normally correct spelling purch, but when describing Blair, you appear to have left the 'h' out. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I sort of agree with you, if I was in Tony Blair's position when the Tory party was in control, I too would have realised that there is no point at all in continually losing elections, and only being in opposition. If you want to change things, then you have to win an election. But I am not a socialist, so that is probably why it so easy for me to think that Tony Blair made the right move (because his move to the right didn't upset or offend me). But he probably went a bit too far to the right (not from my perspective, I mean from the labour party's perspective). Hindsight is of course a wonderful thing, but just maybe (not from perspective of course, again I am talking from the labour party's perspective) labour have now got the balance right, between taking the middle ground and still hanging onto their socialist principles. Could it not be argued that Tony Blair pioneered that move? (albeit that he went a bit too far to the right, for most socialists)Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

The British people (and indeed everyone else) saw Socialism/Communism fail in the most spectacular way in the 1960-80s period so that Bennite/Foot wing of the Labour Party was dead in the water, ironically just as they finally managed to gain control of the party.
Labour, and more importantly the unions that pay for the whole show, realised that the Socialist Utopia was never going to be built and so if the unions were going to push through the policies their members wanted (basically more money) the party had to move to the right. Blair delivered what the unions demanded: huge pay rises and a massive extension of the welfare state.
The cost of that has become apparent during the last seven years but at least some of the damage is being undone.0 -

that's been tried many times
one thinks of France in 1789
or Russsia in 1916
or Germany in 1932/3
or Cambodia under Pol Pot
and many more
they all turned out rather well0 -
