Who will win the UK election ?

yes indeed
but they are pretty minor differences
little of substances to distinguish the approaches except the promise of a referendum on the EU0 -
Actually, I haven't heard anything about any labour policies from the labour party. All I've heard is attacks on others (mainly the Conservatives, every time they suggest anything), which automatically cause me to switch off. I dislike such tactics intensely.
I want to know what parties have to offer to better the whole of the United Kingdom (thank you SNP, for clarifying your position vis a vis labour and thus crystallising my position when it comes to not voting labour), and do not want to hear constant attacks on others.Actually there is almost nothing between the policies of the major parties.0 -

well, all the research shows that lying negative electioneering works
however, it still remains all the others are pretty similar in whatever policies emerge0 -

Your awfully quick to point out your ignorance to others here!? You'd have to be incredibly uninformed not to be able to recall a single Labour policy; heck, we've been discussing some on here for years (gas/electric price freeze for example).Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Actually the so called price freeze is something I've not heard about in the sense I've only seen simplistic headlines.
Has Labour given details ?
Does Labour want to control the cost of imported gas, or the suppliers who interface with the actual user?
Are prices frozen at one single level or do the individual supplier companies have their prices frozen at their individual level?
Will it still be possible to change to a lower cost company?
What happens if the price of the imported commodity to the companies goes up or down?
Those questions are somewhat rhetorical, but maybe there are answers - I've not seen any although I have to confess it's not an personal quest for me to find out.Union, not Disunion
I have a Right Wing and a Left Wing.
It's the only way to fly straight.0 -
You're right of course, and that is in many ways the most depressing thing of all about the whole campaign. In a few weeks, the nation decides who governs us. This is an election where there is probably more genuine difference between the main parties than for 20 years or more, and where the genuinely multi party nature of the election makes the choices available more complex than ever.
There's something very disturbing about the fact that an election like that will be largely decided not on any of those big issues, but on who has the best sound bites. Maybe we really do get the politicians we deserve.
It's not a sound-bite, but reality. I was using that phrase in 2006/7 in dicussions with colleagues when I was totally disillusioned that Labour was continuing to spend like there was no tomorrow ( I could see bust looming!!), as Brown believed he had abolished 'boom and bust'. Labour should have been building a surplus for when the 'bad weather' came but they arrogantly kept wasting our money.
Some sound-bites are just lies, such as the 1997 'things can only get better' before Brown ruined our DB pensions, brought in IR35, started paying for wars etc. How ironic !!! :rotfl:0 -
I think they have quietly ditched that idea now that prices are falling.
Still on their website, and there was someone from Labour on radio 4 a couple of weeks ago who was discussing it.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -

Which was my point, you're awfully quick to highlight how uninformed you are.
Sufficient detail was announced to answer most of your questions, and it was given widespread coverage when they announced it. I'm perfectly willing to believe that you didn't hear about it, but I think that says volumes about you, not about Labour's apparent lack of policy announcements.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature.
