Natwest mortgage via broker

This thread is fantastic. I've been lurking for a while but finally feel like I can join now that I have something to report.
We are FTBs. 95%. So, here's our timeline:
4/4 - Offer made
7/4 - offer accepted
8/4 - DIP obtained from Natwest via MB
13/4 - full mortgage application submitted (x3 payslips and 3 months bank statements)
16/4 - EA called to say that Survey has been booked
the survey is booked for 21/4. I'm hoping and praying that this is a good sign and that we have passed the credit checks and affordability lark. We keep asking our MB or an update from Natwest but he doesnt seem able to say anything other than, things are moving nicely. Everything is crossed here. Wishing you all the best of luck0 -

We gave the broker everything we could think of bank statements, payslips ect on application.
We were waiting on SA302 for my partner but the broker come back to us yesterday and said Natwest has agreed to accept a print out of his tax return.
I'm trying to think of anything else they could possibly ask for so that we can have it ready
They requested March's payslips. It just seems like Everytime we submit something they want more. I hate this underwriting, I wish they would just let us know straight away if they are going to refuse us rather than make us painfully wait.
Has anyone else heard anymore?0 -
Princessladonna - sorry for not keeping up with your story - have you had a valuation yet? I cant work out if underwriting is before the survey, after or both?0

I feel the same, I know they're just doing their job but I'd rather they just said no already!
I sent a concerned email to my MA asking if it's normal to keep requesting documents(which I'm sure it is), is it because they're unsure of lending to us, what happens if they decline... I'm not normally a worrier, but I'm so worried right now! We're FTB on a 95% mortgage
By my estimation, we had our extra documents submitted yesterday so will hear Tuesday/Wednesday (3 weeks after our original submission - actual weeks not working days)0 -

Yeah my valuation/Survey was instructed for Tuesday but I put it on hold as they keep asking for additional things. I just don't want to lose out on money if in the end they decline us. I thought they underwrite before instructing the survey but in my case I don't have a clue what's going on.0 -
Mine was same story with Natwest. I submitted 3 payslips and then they wanted another 3. Each time application went to bottom of the pile. My broker keyed my debit card details into their system from the outset for the valuation. It took 3 weeks of nail biting, dreading each call from my broker. After third week broker called Natwest for update. Was told had passed underwriting but had to go to senior underwriter to review it (told this was the norm with Natwest). Another couple of days then checked bank account and saw that £275 or so was a pending transaction on my account so valuation fee had been taken. Another couple of days and valuation passed and offer issued.0

WillyWonga Glad you have your offer has offered
now you can enjoy waiting for the keys.
Good luck Princessladonna, i hope they stop asking for information soon and you can get your valuation done.
I have not heard anything from MA about my application to Natwest for 2 weeks. Getting a bit concerned now as Natwest looked at my Equifax account on 09.04.15, i am so worried that it will be declinedsuch a stressful time, i just want to hear anything. MA is away until Monday as well as they have gone away for a long weekend, so i am in limbo until at least Monday.

Same situation here. Natwest did a subsequent search on my Equifax on 09/04. My MA submitted extra documentation on Thursday 16/04. I wish they'd just tell me either way so we can find a plan B or get moving. The waiting is terrible, especially is it's out of our hands!0 -
Exactly Tarragondragon, that is exactly how i feel. Wish i could just be told and get it over and done with.
I think that is the worst part it being out of our hands, my MA is really good, but i wish i could just ring Natwest and ask where they are up too, but i dont want to tread on the MA's toes, its all so frustrating.0 -
Have either of you thought of ringing Natwest directly? I have in the past and found them very helpful, however I got in trouble with my broker for doing this lol.0
