I was also watching a video on youtube , about making smash pancakes. The girl making them claimed they are free because she had them as her main meal. But others say it should be syned as it's usued as a substitute.

She only used 2 table spoons, so any thoughts on this please x

My consultant is pretty easy going about this and says as long it is as part of a meal then it's Free but if you want to use it to snack on then it needs to be synned.

As expected, I had a gain but have to say it was more than I was expecting - 1.5lb although having said that I'm still only 0.5lb over my target weight so not a problem but would like to lose it next week but not likely to happen as even when I first started SW I only used to lose 0.5lb most weeks with the occasional lb!

    Speed soup recipe as requested:
(syn free on Green and EE) makes a mahoooosive pan!! - freezes well

    1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can baked beans
    Handful of split lentils
    2 large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 medium carrots
    2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
    2 vegetable stock cubes
    Salt pepper
    Mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all ingredients)

Chop all vegetables. Put them and everything else into a large pan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are soft (about 30 mins). Once cooked, the soup can be left chunky or blended smooth.

Make sure you use a huge pan as it makes loads, something like a large pressure cooker should do it, although I suppose you could do it in the slow cooker - having said that I've never tried it!

Magic results, teallach and Mad with money.

Denise, you’ll sort yourself out in double quick time!

I just need poked all the time, sigh.

Thanks for info re taco shells, maman. I had just one of those – and a tortilla “boat”, unfortunately. It’s still pleasant here (18˚), but it’s later on tonight we’re expecting nasties – and heavy rain (again) all weekend. :(

Hello, JediWinner, in your SW journey to succeed may the force be with you.

Maisie, if you make them before me please let me know how they turned out. I'm still waiting for my chopped to turn up but can't wait to get started.

Hi Jedi and welcome :) , I also love buying whoopsies when I can, sounds like you did well in m&s . I got 3 bags of tomatoes for 30p, stir fry for 39p, cucumber 18p. And best of all they had the quark at 18p a tub, so I got 2, I would of got more but wasn't sure how it would freeze.
    Kindness costs nothing :)

Hope it's okay to join the thread!
I joined my local Sw last night and today has been day one.
I'm finding it okay so far, I have about six stone to lose ideally.

Welcome!! Let us know how you get on today.

maman~~ hopefully wont be as bad as you think :)

Sadly it was, I gained 3lbs! It's no surprise after what I ate and drank on holiday and probably would have been worse but I've been more or less back on plan for a few days. The plus side is I'm still in target range (by 1.5lbs). I've got an off plan day on Saturday but other than that I'll be strict with myself and it'll soon go.:)

I also thought FF was only for a week at a time.

I think it's a bit like EESP, not designed to be a permanent way of eating in case you feel deprived. I don't think it's dangerous provided you feel OK with it.

The way the 'abuse of food' was explained to me is that what matters you mustn't eat more than you would with the food in its normal form. So if you had Smash in pancakes instead of Smash made up then that's fine. If you had all your meals and then sat snacking on them all evening then that would be abuse. It's a bit like cous cous cake or the juicing argument in that you couldn't eat your way through the same number of oranges as you'd put in a glass of juice.

I'm having a rare Green day today. DH is going out to eat this evening so I'm having comfort food that he doesn't like. I'm not going to bother with extra HEXs as I think DH went OTT wit my portion at breakfast.

    Today's menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shredded Wheats, HEA milk
L: JP, cottage cheese, spring onion, beetroot
D: 2 fried eggs, SW chips, mushrooms, peas, pickled onions
    Syns: not planning any;)
