Thanks for your help. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so will speak to my gp, this is all new to me. I've had 3 tests, 2 say I don't have diabetis and one test says I have it "badly" So there's some confusion as to what's going on.... My doctor told me I def have diabetis. If I don't have it then it must be glucose intolerance. I think I'm being referred because as he said something's going on?
Oh how confusing (and worrying) for you. I hadn't realised it was a new diagnosis. Do let us know how you get on and what the diet advice is:).Well, I can safely say I will not be trying to bake the Slimming World way again...
What i've ended up with are less cupcake, more mildly ok tasting tiny pancakes
Oh dear! :rotfl:Fortunately I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I find the best thing is to have a slice of cake in a good teashop when you're out then no temptation to eat it at home.
If the curry's good can you let me have the recipe? I'm looking for a decent curry.
The hair extensions look fab shala and somehow the 'after' photo looks thinner!!;)
I had lunch on the hoof (ham and a Satsuma) and dinner planned is:
SW chips, Sainsbury's BGTY burger (1 syn), fried onions, mushrooms, tomato, peas. I'll have a squirt of HP sauce and then the wine syns:D (sorry to bring the tone of the thread down).0 -

If you really want to bake try the link I posted above 1940sgal.. that lady bakes using cake mix and diet pop and leaves out the oil/butter, i'm sure they could be adapted if you didn't want to use the cake mixes.. her bakes always look amazing although I've never tried them..
I've got to be honest every dessert I've ever tried of SW recipes isn't the best

A day out with the family today (kids had an inset day).I don't think I did too bad considering we visited the seaside
.
Breakfast: Muller light yoghurt,nectarine,fresh apricot
Lunch: porchetta roll.Probably about 40,000 million syns right there: thick white roll filled with fatty pork, and salad. It came with a green leaf salad (which I ate),and a bowl of chips (which I gave to the kids).I didn't actually know what a porchetta roll was until I googled it about 10 minutes ago(well,I knew I was getting a pork roll, but wasn't expecting it to be a deliberately fatty way to serve pork)
A few months ago, when OH was working,I had taken the kids to this particular beach cafe-restaurant,and everyone had soooo enjoyed their meal.We said we will have to come back with OH one day. When we took him there today, the cafe-restaurant had change to an Italian restaurnt with a few not-very-Italian snacks (chips, etc). There was absolutely nothing SW-friendly
When we were getting ready to go home,I bought 4 kids and OH a huge ice-cream cone each (waffle cone,carte-Dor ice cream, mostly, but also other lovely flavours:white chocolate,praline,pistachio,Snickers........).At this point I would like it noted that I bought none for myself :A.And we all know that a taste of your children's [STRIKE]ice cream[/STRIKE] food is syn-free :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Snack: nectarine
Tea: toasted sandwich using wholemeal bread as HEB,30g cheese (HEA) and onion,1 teaspoon Flora-light (1 syn)
Have only had a couple of cups of tea today,so a few syns for skimmed milk.

Nice to see losses, beanie and Sandhy.
Smashing extensions, shala – stay away from the scissors!
On the baking issue, can sweetener be used in place of sugar? If so, do you use the same weight?
Friday
Stuck to plan – again, wow!
Saturday:
Breakfast: hexa cheese, onion & pepper omelette with tomatoes
Lunch: hexb BLT, Activia 0% fat raspberry yogurt
Dinner: cod topped with tomato, garlic & pepper sauce, with broccoli & cauliflower, a piece of fruit
Snacks: 25g wine gums (4 syns), chocolate digestive (4 syns), & something else
Looking forward to another good day.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Morning all x
We tried the pasty thing the other night Meg, it was ok, we did a cheese and onion one and it stuck together well with the egg wash.. let us know if you try it..greentiger wrote: »On the baking issue, can sweetener be used in place of sugar? If so, do you use the same weight?
sugar is a lot heavier than sweetener, I think I read somewhere that people use the same volume rather than weight?
Your menu looks fab today, are you cutting down on carbs? You're not far off an SP day
We're going for a red day today - loads of eggs to use up!
B - magic pancakes (heb), strawberries, yogurt
L - summer rolls (syns for wraps) chicken, veg, dipping sauce
T - pizza frittata(hea) SW chips, pickles
S - crisps (3-4) milk in tea (hea) Apple, yogurt dip
I think I might try one of the cake recipes from the Facebook lady, she gets a cake mix and mixes it with diet pop, they always look lovely and i don't understand how it works so might have to try just for science purposes

Morning
All the customers are in the mood to chat this morning, so this is the first chance I've had to read the thread.
Shala - your hair looks lovely. Are hair extensions any trouble, do you wash and style your hair like it was all your own?
1940sgal - sorry to hear your baking wasn't successful. If you want to bake and have the willpower to not eat it I'd use the ingredients you normally use. I know I wouldn't resist! In fact whenever DH suggests I do some baking, my response is 'but we'll only eat it', at which he cracks up. My theory is that if we really want a baked treat we can buy one each, count the syns and not too much damage is done, but if we eat a whole cake or batch of scones, it's very damaging.
Mirry - my sister recommends the Diabetic Forum - she says the nurses at her health centre gave her such conflicting advice she didn't know what to do for the best, but the Forum has helped her. Link here.
Maman - welcome back
Saver-upper - hope you enjoyed your pork roll, that would be my idea of hell, I can't bear any fat on meat and dissect every visible bit of fat if I have bacon.
Have a great weekend everyone.
