Mirry - there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't use your syns for extra milk. If that's what you would like to "spend" your syns on milk then go for it.
Like Maman I "spend" a lot of my syns on wine; but I also use them if I want some cheese as my HEA is always milk.
Going for a Red day today for a change:
B - scrambled eggs & mushrooms
L - crabsticks with salad - lettuce, cucumber, beetroot, rocket, cornichons, tomato, spring onions.
D - butcher's burger (0.5 syns); WM roll (HEB1), onions
S - 4 Ryvita original (HEB2), spread (2 syns); cheese (HEA1)
HEA2 - milk in tea throughout the day
Others syns weekend wine!

Morning everyone
I've STS this week.
Others syns weekend wine!
Yay - its Friday!:D:D:D
I really shouldn't be looking forward to wine syns as much as I am. :rotfl:
1940sgal - one of the reasons I gave up baking was because using anything other than 'proper' ingredients doesn't work in my opinion. I'm sure there are light spreads that can be used for baking but you'd have to check the package because there are also some that are not suitable, Flora Light for example.
Mirry - is your diabetes controlled with tablets, or diet? I'm not diabetic myself but I have members of my family who are. My sister and brother both follow low carb, high fat diets and have had some success with weight loss and control of sugar levels. That's obviously not the SW way though! In terms of syns, they don't have to be the obvious things like sweets and savoury snacks - you could have olives or avocado with salad, they're both good for you but not free. As others have said, you could have milk or cheese and syn that too.
Well done to everyone who has lost this week.

I'm another looking forward to the wine syns!!:DMaman, Ive been told I'm allowed wholemeal carbs in very small amounts but was told I must have them with some protein at the same time. When I used to do slimming world years ago, I would have my syns on things like a packet of crisp or a chocolate bar/cake. Now I can't think what to have? so it would be great to hear from others who have to watch their sugar levels.
I've also been told I'm only allowed half a apple, it's confusing.
Thanks for the detail mirry. I'm assuming it's your doctor that's told you what's best for your diabetes. For the protein I'd have things like cold meats. So something like chicken tikka slices would go down really well with a packet of crisps. I don't want to confuse you but if you did SW years ago, you might be familiar with the Red plan. That would allow you loads of protein in the meat and fish and then you could syn small portions of brown rice, pasta or whatever. Look at what denise is having today on Red and like lois says you can have other things as syns rather than chocolate. Red does allow for 2 HEAs and Bs. I'd call a small wholemeal roll or a slice of bread a small portion of carb so you should be OK. Just keep posting and we'll get there!:)
Not made the best start to the day. DH always makes our breakfast and decided we'd have pancakes (Kingsmill packet ones) that DD1 had bought:eek:. I'm not even going to look at the syns. His excuse was we didn't have anything else in. Just got a few calls and emails to sort then must go and do a shop.0 -
Thanks for your help. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so will speak to my gp, this is all new to me. I've had 3 tests, 2 say I don't have diabetis and one test says I have it "badly" So there's some confusion as to what's going on.... My doctor told me I def have diabetis. If I don't have it then it must be glucose intolerance. I think I'm being referred because as he said something's going on?Kindness costs nothing0

Sorry can't remember who was saying about having desserts in their menus for the week helped them, but I found a good facebook page if you like sweet things.. Now, her desserts do have syns but if that's what you want to spend your syns on then fair play.. here's the link https://www.facebook.com/NotNigellaJustMe?fref=nf
Lush - hopefully the manager's will see he's a stirrer and not want him on the team.. he's very negative to start doing that in a trial period, it doesn't reflect well on him at all.I really shouldn't be looking forward to wine syns as much as I am. :rotfl:Like Maman I "spend" a lot of my syns on wine; but I also use them if I want some cheese as my HEA is always milk.I'm another looking forward to the wine syns!!:D
You lot are going to get this thread a reputation :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well I've had my hair extensions in:j I wanted to weigh them for scientific purposesso i weighed before i went but we were running late and I couldn't get back to weigh after:( we missed class completely
so i'll have to say it was a sts this week .. I had lost a bit according to the sneaky weigh in but I'll wait and see what happens next week!
Little pic if anyone wants to see, before and after.. I didn't have it for length particularly, more volume, but left it long to see how long I want to have it in the future IYSWIM (so once I have it chopped i'll lose lbs :rotfl:)
Its a green day for us today as we're seriously lacking in fruit and veg till the shopping comes..
B - banana, Satsuma
L - cheesy chips (hea)
T - mac cheese with LM rosemary sausages, bacon (2 x heb & hea) possibly salad if the shopping comes
S - crisps (4.5) milk (2)Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Another one looking forward to the wine syns:D.
Have to pick DH up from work this afternoon and once we're back we'll be off in the motorhome to a little campsite with a small fishing lake so DH will be able to try out his new rod.
Also need to go back to Dunelm before I pick him up as I recently bought a duvet cover and went to put it on last night and the seam has about 3" which hasn't been sewn - so annoying. Just hope they've got another one in stock.
Have a great weekend everyone - weather's looking good in my area hopefully it's the same everywhere.

I ended up buying I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light. I'm going to make them in a bit so we'll see
Me being a baking purist I'm very dubious but I do miss it so I'm willing to give it a go.
My menu for today looks like this:
B: Boiled eggs and an apple.
S: Yoghurt with raspberries and grapes and a peach.
L: Scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast (HEB) spread with 1 laughing cow light triangle (1 syn) followed by strawberries.
S: Alpen light bar (3 syns) & muller lightChicken curry but with green veg instead of rice.
Might have some more raspberries this evening as I can spy a few on the bush in my garden. They never make it as far as the kitchen, straight from bush to mouth0 -
