Beanie - well deserved award if you've been volunteering for 20 years! :T:T you're a lovely lady for giving up your time for others.

Maisie - i'm the same, a lady at work joined the week I did and she's lost double the amount I have :( we just have to keep going! Your menu looks fab today though :D

We tried the burger in a bowl today - i'm undecided, but OH liked it. I think i'd prefer the mince to be an actual burger rather than loose. I added the gherkins i'd bought, first time trying them and they're ok, but salty

Well done lauri and Maisie on your losses. :T

Just checking out the Meerkats Lois. House/Contents insurance is due next week so may look that up or I can get travel ins for about £2.50 ;) DH is up for going too after your review :rotfl: ETA - house ins too pricey but just bought DH a days travel ins for £2.67 - just have to work out what to do next :D

When I get timed out message meg I have just been refreshing page and it has worked. Hth.

Had a really busy morning - nothing very exciting but just normal stuff. After lunch I decided to attack one of the kitchen cupboards and give it a good sort (this is just the start of many - but one at a time just now) and gave it a good sort out. Got rid of anything with little chips in, things I was sick of. Seem to have a big collection of 'odd' mugs that DS has acquired over the years and never ever uses. Thinking of packing them up and tell him to sort them and when he moves out he can take them with him :rotfl: As this cupboard was up a height there was plenty of climbing up and down the steps and lifting so hopes this counts as BM. Had intended to cut Mums lawns but that didn't happen I'm afraid.

Not had any syns so far today so think I will treat myself now to one of the hazelnut ice cream wafers from Lidl that Mum kindly donated to me earlier ;) Think they are about 8 syns if I remember correctly. Then might have a pack of WW korma poppadoms around 4 syns and still have HEs to have - I can feel a party coming on. :rotfl:

Scarletmarble - this recipe is a great way to have those high syn sausages but in smaller amounts - 2 sausages per person is ample. It states 500g of pasta, but 250g is plenty. It keeps well and is good cold too.

May do a jambalaya type dish or a paella dish. Using the sausages as the bits of pork

Good for you, Lauri, teallach and Maisie.

You’ll soon be back in the groove, Meg and Matron.

That sausage recipe looks tasty, Lois. I’ll try it out soon.

    Wednesday’s review:
Breakfast: fruit selection – strawberries, raspberries & blueberries
Lunch: egg mayo (1 syn) & cress sandwich, WW toffee apple yogurt
Dinner: crab & cod fishcakes (4 syns), tomato salsa
    Snacks: 2 gingernuts (5 syns)
Then I took my DGS to his drama show dress rehearsal (45 min drive away)and hung about for 2 hours before the actual performance – and that was my downfall :(; many, many syns were consumed. :(:(:(

Oh well, tomorrow is another day!

    Thursday
Breakfast: hexb French toast, fruit, maple syrup (1 syn)
Lunch:” whatever “ soup (carrot, celery, onion, garlic, potato, sweet potato, mixed peppers, tomatoes, spaghetti bits), yogurt
Dinner: meatballs and spaghetti (hexa parmesan), fruit
Snacks to be decided, but I’ll try to stay clear

Wishing you all lots of will power for tomorrow.

    Menu for today:

Breakfast: an apple and a mandarin

    Lunch: bacon,egg,baked beans
    a nectarine

Tea: kids had eaten earlier. For OH (coming home late) and myself,I made an arrabiata sauce,to have with pasta.Talk about burn-your-face-off :eek::eek:.OH likes fiery food,I usually don't eat this level of spice.I had been looking for a recipe for a spicy tomato pasta sauce.Wasn't expecting this.
Sohuldn't really be surprised considering it contained a fresh chilli,3 tablespoons of chilli flakes, and 3 garlic cloves .
Served with lots of creme fraiche,it was quite nice.

For dessert tonight I had a meringue with creme fraiche and strawberries, followed later by 2 Alpen lights (HEB)

Had most of HEA in skimmed milk
