Nissan Leafs....amazing deals to be had (1000 miles UPDATE)

Why is the OP so desperate for people to buy the Leaf? Do you work for Nissan?
I dont think hes desperate for us all to buy Nissans, however he is clearly seeing what he feels is a good deal and is sharing it with us - it is MSE after all - and having to defend his choice against people who are mostly showing ignorance of EVs0 -

Not to mention of course zero driving enjoyment, although to be fair that's not really possible in any car now due to the congestion on the roads.
It has been tested that something like 90% of people dont do more than 90 miles a day.
If i was going down the EV route i would, however buy something that is engine backed, like a Prius. But thats just personal choice.0 -

The posting style has more than a whiff of salesman "puff." What kind of regular car buyer comes out with "jump on board" this great deal. It's got all the hallmarks of a sales pitch. Something does not ring true. The poster has just registered and straight away is promoting the deal. There may be nothing in it, or it may be someone whose motives are not as benevolent as first seems.
We get loads of posts from people recommending cars they have bought and plenty of people get their choice of car ragged on so it's not just because it's a Leaf. It is not ignorant to say the range of the vehicle on a single charge is an issue, which is what most are saying.0 -

I haven't just registered, and no I don't work for Nissan.
All I was pointing out was a deal that was pointed out to me via a pistonheads.com thread....and given that I thought this was a forum about saving money etc, people might be interested.
Go and check it for your selves if you want to 'investigate' my motivations more, just Google pistonheads, leaf, and deals. To make it really easy, my first post on that thread is on page 6 (this Wednesday), did a test drive on Thursday (page 7), and bought it on Friday (page 8)
To get these deals you have to call the dealer, as the Nissan website only shows a the 'official' discounted deals....The reason for the extra discount is that dealers are having to meet their quarterly targets, so you have to register the car before the end of the month. Hence I thought I SHARE the deals with people on a forum who might be interested in saving money, on a time limited offer.0 -

The O/P has actually been posting since december and their first post got them criticised by the green eyed monsters for buying a new car.
Not very welcoming for a newbie is it?
Oh, and if they were a Nissan salesman i'm sure they'd have a company car - but i guess you'll say they posted that thread four months ago to throw us off the scent?

It was an observation that what some are enterpreting as "keen" was actually either defending their choice of defending ignorance about the car.
And if they really were a Nissan salesman, would they not have dropped in the name of their dealership - "i've just got a great deal from Fred Bloggs Nissan"?0 -
Who knows what the OP's motives are. People can and do post anything on the internet. You are clearly 100% convinced by the OP. I was not and gave my reasons why. Like it or lump it.0

I'm not sure why you think I'm in some kind of game to con people, but I've given you more than enough information to 'investigate' me more.
As you say you can post/write anything you like on the Internet. Your views are clear for every one to see, but please do not launch some kind of personal attack on me for simply sharing my views.
One thing I have learnt, this forum is rather full of some very small minded people.0 -

Sadly your threads seem to have attracted some from the small minded / green eyed / ignorant minority, but hopefully you've seen some balanced views too.
Is the Leaf the new car you were talking about in your other thread or is this another new car you've bought?0 -

Unfortunately, the Motoring section of the MSE forums seems to particularly attract those who like to make unwarranted assumptions about other posters, then post vitriolic criticisms based only on what they have just assumed.
Luckily, the other sections of the MSE forums are more civilised. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

I think a lot of the people slagging off the OP are a bit jealous and will never be in the position to buy a new car.
EG " my Vectra only cost peanuts to buy 'cus it's rubbish and cheap to run 'cus it's always broke down.
I am looking for a car for my wife and if she liked the look of it more we would get one. She only averages 25 miles a day so it would be ideal. It really is a cracking deal.0
