    Good afternoon chums
<<<hugs>>> to Pink-winged and her friend's family. What a sad thing to happen to someone so young. Her family must be devastated. No words can replace a loved one but support from friends often helps .
I too lost my oldest friend only last year ,we had gone to ante-natal together and our two DDs had virtuallly grown up together .She sadly died at 59 of the same disease that I am fighting now.The worst part a few weeks ago was telling her eldest DD by my eldest DD.Still I am keeping positive and although I would love to see Carol again I am going to try to pass on that for a few years yet.
It is hard to find words when someone you love ,like and admire passes away, as they seem so futile, but grieve for you friend and remember that you were able to speak to her before she died . Try to focus on all the smiles you had together and be happy that you were lucky enough to call her a friend .:A

I went out to dinner last night with eldest DD and family at the local health club and we had a great time as it overlooks the Medway river. We sat outside and watched the sunset ,one of the best free lightshows on Gods good earth.Amazing coulours that foretold a very warm summers day . After I got home at around 9.ish my youngest DD picked me up about 9.30.p.m. and we went of to the 'investigation' It really was very interesting as there seemed to be quite a lot of 'activity' in this 400 year-old coaching house .
The medium in our group picked up on a man around 1874 who it appears had been a soldier staying there when he died .His name was Geoffrey, and he was quite a lively chap . We did some pendulum work with a crystal, and he seemed to only want to 'talk' to me.I certainly seemed to get the pendulum moving quite fast and I am neither a believer nor a non beliver.I am just curious and have an open mind about it all.
There were some unexplained things that apparently happens in the ballroom of the hotel and the staff have become quite used to the 'goings 'on there.

My DD is not a medium, but she is a locations co-ordinator for this group and they take paranormal investigations very seriously .She had to spend most of last night working the camera with our group, as each group is filmed whist the seance is on .There certainly seemed to be no 'tricks ' of any sort being manufactured there.I am quite a sharp-eyed person and if I thought there was I would have said .An interesting night and I got home at about 04.30.a.m. this morning.I went off to bed and stayed there until 1.00.o'clock .I have just had my shower and breakfast . This afternoon I am off to Dds for sunday dinner .Roast Lamb and all the trimmings.
after today only four more days so I am keeping quite busy to keep my mind off of things .This time next week my op. will be over and I am hoping the 'drain' will be removed so I can come home .Fingers crossed.
Tomorrow the plasterers are coming to plaster my conservatory then on Tuesday the elctrician to fit the lighting and plugs in .Its all happening here at JackieO Towers
I hope everyone has had a lovely sunday and <<hug>> to those who are sad and in need
    Cheers JackieO xx

Have just popped back on to catch up on the later bits of the day! Didn't get back to sleep until after 3am, but did get up for early service and remembered to add Pink and her friend's family to the prayer list.
DH's birthday - and so far we've spent a good portion of it in the car, returning DIL and DGD to London. Summer has certainly arrived here with a vengeance - it's the third really hot sunny day in a row. Good to see some new faces - welcome to the friendliest bunch online!
Pink - hope you got some rest at least. Churchmouse, so sorry to hear about yourfamiliy's loss too. Hope most of you are enjoying the sunshine today.

    Dia Dhibh!

Pinkwinged...my heart goes out to you and Sandra's family, will remember you all in my poor prayers.

JackieO...glad that you enjoyed your spookhunt...interesting isn't it...I would not be a believer or non-believer either, feel that there is certainly something in it all.

Welcome to all the newbies, you will like it here and gain much help with money saving.

Lashing rain here since about midnight until about half an hour ago...think its just a lull while the clouds fill up again.

Nothing happening here, hurling matches on tv ( our national game, played with ash hurleys...shinty in Scotland is rather like I think ) Its a fast, exciting and rather dangerous game if helmets are not worn, great to watch.

Hugs to Churchmouse's DS and DIL..upsetting for whole family.

Have a good day, must find something to feed the troops soon, not sure what's around.

    Afternoon all,

JackieO I can't decide either whether to believe in ghosts, etc. I used to watch Most Haunted and remained fairly sceptical until I saw the one filmed at the Ram Inn (I think) in Gloucester. Poor Stuart was so badly affected by what happened to him that he actually lost all the hair on his head through the stress of it all. He was probably the most believable of the crew and so I felt that something must really have upset him for him to lose his hair.

DS, DD and I have had a lovely day today. We went to the local chinese buffet for lunch then had a wander around town and bought a box of 50 plain white cards with the intention of making this year's Christmas cards.

When we came back I lifted the lino in the bathroom and placed it over the new lino to use as a template. Did quite a good job too as I only have some trimming now to get it to fit perfectly. :j I'm quite proud of myself for doing it - even though I do say so myself.

Also managed to get most of the washing done and hung out as the sun has popped back to Lancashire for a wee while.

DD and I then made 8 Christmas cards. We chattered away about nothing mostly but it was a perfect way to spend a couple of hours. Quite pleased with our efforts since we have only recently started to get into card making.

DS and DD are now showing signs of tiredness - we have had a couple of late nights - so I have to go and play referee.

We've had a busy day, hubby has sorted a friends electrics out, & DS2 came over to see us, he brought 2 carrierbags of books over, tso hubby & I will have plenty to read over the next few weeks.
Thumper & Ogden don't like the heat, it's too much for them, there isn't much I can do apart from keeping their water bowl topped up.
We had lamb, new pots & spring greens for dinner & it was nearly too hot to eat it.
Hugs to Pink, JackieO & anyone else who needs them

    :hello:
First of all i just want to send my condolances to pink winged xx

I'm melly and a newbie (sort of :o)
I'm 23 on thursday, and am mum to a 3 year old son.
I'm quite OS, well i like to think i am, i do cook alot from scratch, but just lately i've been slacking :o
I'm going to start with trying to use up most of my feezers and cupboard stuff, then start shopping online, because if i go shopping i always either forget the list or forget to put things on the list and grab things which catch my eye but i dont need
I work part time and for 4 days out of 7 me and my son dont eat breakfast or lunch here, but i'm gonna have to start making a packed lunch for me really as i end up picking at crap or bying something, some days i'm foinished by lunchtime anyways so i can just go home and knock something up, just got lazy!
