PW - there's nothing to say to make you feel better I know, but I hope the thoughts of others gives you some support. how sad for her family especially her little daughter.

today we have rain and a basket full of washing. Should have done it yesterday when we had a better day, but hey ho!

need to go to DIY store to get some wood oil stuff for my new bench. I think OH has day off tomorrow so hopefully by tuesday we will be able to sit out. will need to get it out of my car later. it comes flat packed in a huge box and very heavy. took two men to get it in. so plan to open box in car and bring it in a bit at a time.

tomorrow is a big day here as exam results come out for kids. cant help feeling a bit nervous although I'm sure my son will have done ok. will make it easier applying for university if he gets the results he needs this time round.

Pink-winged, I am SO sorry to hear of your loss. Go and do whatever you need to do; don;t worry about the boards we'll be fine. (((PINK))) Take comfort in your chat with her; many people don't get that just before a loved one goes and wish they had spoken to them.

    Welcome all new OS'ers!!

DH only got the bathroom tub resealed yesterday; it took him forever to get th eold stuff off - it didn't want to come off. He's got the rest of his list to do today.

My foot isn't any better; still swollen, beginning to really think I've damaged a tendon or something! Foot above the broken toe still hurts as well; 7 weeks on?

Not quite sure what I'm doing today other than watching tv and working on the x stitch!

So sorry to hear about your friend Pink. I think you're right to take a break from board guiding, you need to concentrate on yourself & those closest to you & your friend at the moment.

It's a terrible thing when someone so young dies, especially when there's a young child involved. I hope you can take comfort from knowing that your friend knew how much you thought of her & I'm sure she felt as lucky to have you for a friend as you do to have had her.

I don't do prayers but you & others hurt by this will be very much in my thoughts today.

Inspired by another thread on OS about crafting, I've decided to make a wallhanging for my bedroom rather than buy one as planned. I want a large patchwork one made from beautiful, elaborate sari fabrics in dark purply shades. I've seen something similar to what I want in an American on line shop for about £80  .

Today I'm going to plan it out on sqared paper & then next weekend I'll go fabric hunting. I live fairly near to Leicester which has a large Asian community so I'm going to pay a visit to some sari shops & see what I can pick up there. I reckon I can make it for a fraction of what it would cost to buy. If I buy lots of extra fabric I could make a throw for the bed to match. I'm feeling VERY excited by this.

"oddsnsods - I have been out and about since January. Only joking. You mentioned that you took Annie out today for the first time since January."

LOL! Annie the cat, not you, daft thing! LOL She's just gone back outside -looked up at me as she went out the door as if to say:'really, can I??!'

Dobie - just remember, sari shops dont' sell small swatches of fabric, the fabric for saris tend to be woven all in a piece, esp. if its embroidered/woven with gold threads etc. expect to pay £15+ up for cheap sari material. If you want various shades of purple, it may cost more than £80 for the fabric you'd like. Good Luck!

I didn't get much reading done, mr tru dragged me out to the car and made me get in it :D We bought some plants for the garden, so the ugly little patch under the front window will actually look nice and tidy now lol.

I WILL get stuck into my book today, I only managed 4 chapters yesterday.
