Some medical conditions are more prevalent in the overweight or obese and symptoms can be lessened by losing weight. Healthcare professionals might need to broach weight issues daily. Other people who might need to mention weight restrictions include those who use equipment with weight restrictions, people dealing with returned goods damaged by someone over recommended weight using it, places like riding stables where I've seen people dealt with very tactfully by being put on one horse demand to be put on another and when being told that's not possible make a bit of a scene( I've also seen thin, poor riders directed of similar horses). Of course their comes a point ( often not too high a point,) where some stables cannot accommodate you. I think my closest stables cut off point is twelve stone.

There are sometimes people have to be told they can not participate in something regardless of the colour of their money or would benefit from taking action.

That is weight, not fat, and you cannot be that rude in real life. Stop troll baiting me. I'm taking my bat home.

Anyways, re. fat people no I wouldn't call them that. I'm sure the vast majority of overweight people are quite aware of the fact that they are fat, and don't need others pointing it out to them.

You are absolutely right those can be ( in the main) weight issues often but not always divisible from fat, but not all the examples are. For example the health ones. ( there are other reasons why the others might not just be weight ones in some circumstances, particularly in more advanced situations)

I did also think of posting the inverse...people looking only for people of certain sizes to date because they are only aroused by overweight people, just as many are turned off by them.

Troll is not some one discussing things with a different opinion to yours, there is no need to be rude to each other for holding different opinions either. Signed, a fat person with health issues but a sense of realism and willingness to discuss other viewpoints. :)

People use all kind of euphemisms when talking to me. I'm happier to say fat or overweight. Its the truth, I'd rather face it head on. I would not call someone a"fat" in that term however, but it doesn't change what it is and how its viewed.

I think its surprising how many people don't have a really good idea of good body weight. I spend a lot of time thinking about it and can condition score animals accurately. When I was shown similar 'condition scoring' images for people my accuracy was off considerably. I was quite surprised as I have some if not a professional understanding of the body and musculature etc, but I was told its amazingly common. Fwiw I scored people too under generously, I.e. Put people in the overweight category who were within normal condition. I think but cannot be certain that this is the most common way to fail.

With vanity sizing, very slim models, articles on things like 'thigh gap' and increasing average clothes and bra size, it seems there are conflicting idea of norm to grapple with and 'norms' can be hard to pick out of wavering lines of abnorm, when we are all individual.
