Next someone will come along and saw how awful it is that teenagers have to pay so much for car insurance. I think it should be law that they all have black boxes in their cars. If he can't drive properly he shouldn't be on the road.

Front of driving licence photo card only has the date the card was printed so usually after the date of test pass. Back of card should state the actual test pass date.

They definitely never gave him the speed but said because he was cheeky (which he maintains he wasn't) that he would be doing him for driving without due care and attention.

Sometimes you gotta let the dog have it's day, however there is no smoke without fire, so your lad is not 100% either, the odd time he may win a conflict , but sometimes he won't, hopefully this time the officer coaching your lad to be more aware, he may have got away with it this time, the next time he may not be so lucky.

The police can often have an aggressive attitude but they look at the motorist to see how they react and whether they pass the attitude test. If you don't you will get a ticket if you do you may or may not get a ticket but I always find it's best to be polite and apologise.
Just shows how power hungry and jumped up the police are. They think they deserve respect just because they wear and uniform and go around telling other people what to do. As if their **** doesn't stink just as bad as anyone else's.

Whilst I get your point Enfieldien, it really depends on how much time you spend on the road. As apparently he drives for a living, that could be a lot of time.

When I drove for a living, I did 120 - 125,000 a year, whilst a friend of mine does 4000 a year pootling to the shops and for lunch.

I'm not excusing or commenting, just making an observation.

    125000 miles a year?!

I do take your point though. ;)

I've had similar experiences but a little different as well.

I've been in the wrong a few times and been lucky enough to have a nice police officer and made sure i was as polite as i could be and got let off with a warning.

But as many times as that's happened i've been pulled from the police whilst i've been doing nothing wrong, purely because i drove a modified car that's associated with chavs / neds.
Even though i knew i was doing nothing wrong it didn't stop them making stuff up. Strange as it is, that soon stopped after i installed a dash cam and made sure i brought it up in coversation when ever i was stopped.

    Just an example.
Corsa B, lowered on alloy wheels and with an exhaust. Turbo diesel and slow as a week in the jail. Fuel light was on and was driving like a granny to my mums with my brother so that i could make it back to the fuel station.

As soon as i come off the roundabout police lights on behind me

Officer: Hi, we just pulled you to let you know you were going a bit too fast around that roundabout there and just to be mindful of your speed in the future.

Me: What do you mean? I was going really slow around it i thought.

Officer: No, you were actually going really fast around it there.

Me: Oh right, that's a surprise I'll need to check my video footage when i get in because i thought i was going slowly.

    Officer: What do you mean?

Me: (pointing to dash cam) My dash cam records everything so i'll check how fast i was going on it.

Officer: Oh.....(long pause) Why do you have one of them?

Me: Oh you know..in case someone bumps into me and says it was my fault or in case someone accuses me of doing something i never did.

Officer.........(longer pause) Oh...oh ok ...yeah, well you have a good evening sir (quickly got back into car)

I think when my mate was a Taxi driver he was close to 100,000 in his first year when he was out most days. Truck or delivery driver might do even more.

That's not how it'd go down......

They'd confiscate the recording under PACE, as possible evidence of an offence.

Then, you'd hear nothing until a letter arrived telling you to retrieved (6 months later) your video/memory card from the evidence office, you'd go fetch it and find it's been wiped.
