Stopped for speeding - help please

He has got 3 points from a couple of years ago. What about the driving without due care and attention it say this carries up to 9 points0
-
He never got any paperwork but the police did read his rights.0

Hope he has a good lawyer.0

The police can't just make up charges because you query something, and a due care charge would need to be supported by a specific example of what he was doing (slightly exceeding the speed limit wouldn't be enough in the vast majority of situations).
One thing to keep in mind, with the best will in the world, is that you only have his side of the story - if he was doing something very silly then an awful lot of youngsters will describe it as "he made up that charge because..." rather than admit they'd screwed up. It's human nature.
If he is "spinning" the story like that then, hopefully, they'll only go for the speeding and he'll get a chance to think (without ever admitting it) about how close his foolishness came to losing him his job.
You could always gently point out to him (obviously without suggesting he was at fault here) that doing anything to bring himself to the attention of TP runs that risk in future0 -
Sounds like the coppers caught him racing off the lights, then he failed the attitude test. Either that or he has RWD and was being tail-happy with it.0

If he drives for a living he really needs to stop getting points...
I would make sure he can lay his hands on his pass certificate as it's proof of the test date.

That is probably about right to be honest. He said to him originally how would be feel about getting 3 points and then said he was being cocky with him (19 year old!!!) so changed and said he would not only be done for speeding but driving without due care and attention. I hope he was just trying to scare him. 3 points he could cope with but not a ban.0 -
So he has already got 3 points "from a couple of years ago" but has only been driving for two years?
During this short period on the road he has managed to attract the attention of the Police again, at least once if not more times?
Sounds like a ban might teach him a lesson.0 -
I had just passed my test and got stopped for speeding, Policeman was admant he was going to get me 6 points and thus my licence revoked, He was being a right %%~&&%
however I heard nothing more ever so he wasnt that bad and was just scaring the crap out of me0
