Stopped for speeding - help please

That is probably about right to be honest. He said to him originally how would be feel about getting 3 points and then said he was being cocky with him (19 year old!!!) so changed and said he would not only be done for speeding but driving without due care and attention. I hope he was just trying to scare him. 3 points he could cope with but not a ban.
Got to take your tellings off by the police with good grace. Accept what they say and they get a radio call of more interest at the right time and then you might just walk away pointless.0 -
Whilst I get your point Enfieldien, it really depends on how much time you spend on the road. As apparently he drives for a living, that could be a lot of time.
When I drove for a living, I did 120 - 125,000 a year, whilst a friend of mine does 4000 a year pootling to the shops and for lunch.
I'm not excusing or commenting, just making an observation.0 -
As others have said, there is no requirement for paperwork. He may just get summonsed to court. If he has 3 points already in just 2 years of driving it sounds like he really needs to change his driving attitude too.0

Many years ago in my miss spent youth I was stopped on the M2 in my MR2 doing over 100 and received a good talking to by the motorbike cop. He asked my job and told me I would probably lose my job as I needed my car for work and this would cause problems for my wife and kids (I had no wife or kids) but agreed.
I took my telling off and he told me it was my lucky day and rode off into the sun.
It taught me a valuable lesson and I stopped speeding.
The police can often have an aggressive attitude but they look at the motorist to see how they react and whether they pass the attitude test. If you don't you will get a ticket if you do you may or may not get a ticket but I always find it's best to be polite and apologise.0 -
