My children won the Disneyland trip themselves, for a broke mum like me comping has been a god-send!
In two weeks going to Alton Towers on a VIP package, all transport paid for, £500 spends in the park, all the food in the park is completely free, everything in all the shops is half price for us, and we have a table booked in one of the restaurants in the park to have lovely dinner on the 2nd night! We even have a limo transporting us from the train station to the hotel, and included with that prize was a Go-Pro hero 4 camera and £200 vouchers to spend at Photobox, so hubby can't wait to try out the camera when we're there! we're going on the trip over hubbys birthday, its amazing to be able to give him a break away that we could have never afforded otherwise! (Won all that with Black Tomato! Fab company!)
Anyways, good luck everyone on winning the trip of your dreams! Mine would be to Vanuatu! :-)
I'm really interested to hear your story, because you are a family of 6. So many holiday competitions are for a family of 4 - how do you get round this? Do you pay the difference yourselves? I only ask, because we have 3 kids (8, 11 and 15) and 99% of competitions are for 2 adults and 2 kids, so I don't bother entering them. I know some people say just enter and then worry about it if you win, but I constantly imagine getting a wem for a holiday and then finding out they wouldn't let us take it due to the number of kids and their ages!
How do you normally deal with this and are the promoters very flexible??0 -

Just check to make sure there is no expiry date on the vouchers!0 -
I've won a week on Gozo, a night in a 5-star hotel in London and 2 nights in a castle in Scotland. Felt ill all weekend though and found out I was pregnant when I got back! Can't wait to start entering holiday competitions again now my little girl is a little older. I love the fact we've been to places we would never think of or could afford. Can't wait to see where this fantastic hobby may take us next.0

I won a weeks Mediterranean cruise in 2013. It was wonderful, we got a cabin 4 levels up from what the competition promised and it was with an upmarket line- I was amazed when we got the invoice in for over £6,500 (for a week!!) with a line underneath deducting all the cost with the narrative "discount". Great feeling! In between winning it and taking it we decided to get married too so we ended up leaving just 3 weeks after the ceremony so it was our honeymoon
I've also won a short trip to Dublin which I took my mum on, it was great and the first time she'd left the UK since the early seventies (and that was a comp win for her back then too- must run in the family!)0 -
Won a weekend in scotland for all 4 of us (had to pay flights but they were pretty cheap)
Weekend in a lovely 5* hotel an hours drive from us, again for all 4 of us
and won a weekend in North Yorkshire that I couldn't go to which the company very kindly let my mum and dad take instead, they had an amazing time and said the hotel was beautiful (they love to walk so it was perfect for them)
Nothing abroad yet as I enter very few as so many say 2 adults and 2 children but kids have to be under 12 and my son is nearly 14not sure if these companies would let me pay to upgrade one of the tickets to another adult and would hate them to say no and not offer the prize to someone else so we all missed out on a holiday

Yes 1993 5 days in Las Vegas and a week in Cornwall
2004 Flights to Bangkok
2012 Weekend in the Peak District
2012 5 nights New York and £1,000 spending money
2010 Night stay in Summer Lodge Devon and Cookery course with Leslie Waters
2013 Weekend in London Mayfair Hotel
2014 Week break Devon caravan
2015 Week in Crete-due to go in May
Went on them all apart from the caravan holiday in Devon due to family problems at the last moment. They were all fantastic and most cost me additional spends apart from New York. Entering competitions is my hobby it makes your post, phone calls and e-mails more fun0 -
Holidays/trips away are my favourite wins!
Have been quite lucky so far and won:
Weeks skiing in Val Thorens, France
3 night trip to Poland-would never have chosen this but we had a brilliant (and very cheap) time
3 night trip to Isle of Wight
Weekend in Devon
Hotel stays in Suffolk, Brighton and 4 hotel wins in London0 -
I won a week in the South of France with Al Fresco on a Mirror competition from here. It included £500 towards travel, which almost covered our flights.
It was a self catering holiday home (like a posh caravan) and as it hadn't cost us anything we ate out every night in the local restaurants and hired a car for some sightseeing.
All-in-all a really nice holiday.
I do however prefer all inclusive hotels though if I'm honest ;-)0 -
I was lucky enough to win a £2500 holiday voucher which we put towards 2 weeks in Florida last year. Definitely the highlight of my comping so far!!
Top wins - Florida holiday, North Carolina holiday, Sky TV for a year, wine for a year
Thanks to all who post and good luck to everyone!!:rotfl:0 -
Last year I won an all expenses paid holiday to Houston, Texas. Flights, car hire, hotels, meals, a city pass and $1000! It had to be taken on a specific date and we found out 3 weeks before we went. I had a 2 month old baby at the time and the trip was fir 2 adults. The promoters were amazing and let us add our baby on to the booking and stay an extra night for free! Was a fantastic experience and DH's dream destination!0
