Hi. Sorry to divert from raw scores etc. I have been following this for a while but never posted. My daughter achieved 103 at Aqe and an A in GL. Her 1st preference school took a bottom score of 102 last year and is our closest school. However, if she were not accepted this year then our 2nd choice school would be Victoria college using her A from GL. Victoria is a fair distance from our home but she is adamant it is her 2nd choice. Would we then be eligible for a free bus pass or would we be expected to choose a closer school as 2nd choice aswell as 1st choice? Sorry I'm just so unsure of it all as I went to my local grammar 5 mins away so no knowledge of school transport. Thanks.

To get bus pass you have to be refused by nearest school

If you chooses a further school over a closer school you don't get travel

Unless it's over the three miles and of a particular category so if you did both exams and for example wanted a catholic school if you chooses that and skip a state school before it high should qualify if iver 3 miles because it's your closest Catholic does that make sense

Thanks so stressful, school has said SC could pull him up to A if GS sees fit. But only have schools, tutor and our word. I'm also getting remark as can't get much worse lol

The GL test is marked by a computer and therefore a remark will give the exact same score.

Thanks everyone for the support think I will give it a try have nothing to lose.
I think you should go down the SC route, it's such a stressful experience for kids. If the GS think his PIMS and OIE score is high enough they will decide on the grade, it's not the same process as the AQE where you only move up a few marks. I wish you all the best over the next few months , I've been in your position before and know how stressful it is.
  • Ok, I'm going to the kick this off, raw scores in this morning. AQE score 109: paper 1: 52, paper 2: 54, paper 3: 48. February birthday. I think it is important to post these for children sitting the test in future years. My opinion is that the raw scores were low this year hence the 3 mark increase from raw score to AQE score
