  • Yes, we have purchased the pdf tests too, I just meant how is your child finding them, easy / hard? Does anyone know if they are on the same level as the past papers you can buy from the AQE website? Thanks.

We are only a week back - remember when DD went through this that the school seemed to give more difficult papers at this stage. I think this is in the hope that by time works round to AQE they find them easier. DS seems to think that they will soon be starting doing old AQE papers in school. That will tell us more i think ...........eeeeekkkkkk

Against for me Cherryscone - teachers in the grammar schools will tell you that within months they can pick out the ones who have been tutored as they start to struggle. If DS can get in with his own merit and what help I can give that I will be over the moon. If he doesnt then I think that is stating the obvious that not capable of coping with grammar school. Start tutoring now then where does it stop ??
Just my opinion - everyone to their own !

  • Even if it were financially viable for us to have our son tutored, I would be inclined not to do so, as I feel competent to undertake the work and have the time to do so. However, I can understand people feeling the need to rely on a tutor because the curriculum - as taught in my son's school - does not cover what is on the test.
