Flymetithemoon thanks for posting this
Here's hoping xx0 -
my son, who is now in 3rd year at grammar school, was so bad in the September that I went to his primary school principal with the intention of pulling him out of the test.
Thanks to her telling me this happened with some boys and to persevere with it, he is currently doing very well at the local grammar school.
My advice is not to get too stressed and give him plenty of encouragement.
Good luck to you all. Im glad to be done with it!!0 -
I am also very glad to be done with this. My friend, whose older children sat the 11+ has a child doing AQE this year & she is finding it a lot more pressurising for all concerned.
I would second Kyral's advice, try not to get too stressed, but if you can't help it, then try not to let them sense that you are stressed and keep encouraging them so that they will believe they can do it. Confidence is so important.
After just 1 month, my DS has settled into Grammar School far better than I dared to wish and he is so happy and loving everything that I am totally convinced he is in the right place for him and that all the pressure of AQE was worth it. I literally believe that he would already be disadvantaged if he had been at either of my local secondaries as neither of them offer, amongst other things, the variety of extra curricular activities in which he is already participating.
His friend, on the other hand, has not settled well at all. This kid was tutored for 2 years before AQE - I am wondering whether he can now cope without a tutor???0 -

There are no dates on those particular papers as they are not official past papers. Past papers are sold by AQE ( aqe.org.uk/ and click on The Assessments). My son started doing these in school recently and so far, he has found the literacy component to be more straightforward than some of those published by PMP.0
