Short lived 64 and silly mistakes

On a windmill paper apparently these are trickier harder papers so I'm not getting worked up about it
Are you doing a test everyday?

I try to do a paper every day to keep him working on his time or if I can't a page or two from a paper depending on homework that he has

This was one a friend gave me to try for him
  • We are home with a score of 75% from school today. This is ok but she got 70% in her very 1st AQE test after Easter so I was expecting to have made a bit more progress by this stage. Anyone feel the same?
  • There seem to be very few posts from parents of children doing GL. Are there many of you here? How are your kids getting on?
  • Sorry. Should have said. I've been lurking for a while but with tests getting closer I wanted to join in the conversation. Hope that's ok with you all x

Welcome to the group. How's it going with you? Sorry I can't help with GL.
  • Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me joining your thread. My son is doing both GL and AQE exams. He has been getting great marks at home (high 80s) however in school he is getting 60 percent. I am wondering if I am giving him easy papers to do? Has anyone any experience of thetransfertest.com papers? we are working through these GL papers I hope they are hard enough to reflect what he
Might meet in the actual test. Does anyone recommend windmill and can I buy these in Easons or just online?

I feel very worried about this whole process and I really hope it's not showing to my son!

    Hi happyface123

Welcome to the BIG CONVERSATION !!

Both of my kids have done AQE and we found the transfertest.com
papers to be very close to the real thing. I thought that website was particularly good. PMP Publications also produce good books on Maths & English. My kids did a few Windmill practice tests in Primary School but none at home - I wasn't so keen on them. Best practice of all for AQE is the AQE past papers from 2009 onwards which you can buy from AQE for just over £2 per paper.
