I'm distracted with the whole thing
I would understand if he couldn't do it but he can

I can feel your pain. Think it is maybe a boy thing too.
I went through the last four AQE practice tests over weekend that he had done in school and rewrote the 40 plus maths questions he had got wrong in the papers with different numbers etc and he got about 80% of them right. Making so many silly mistakes. Teacher says he is more than capable just need to iron things out.
Frustrating as he wants to do the test and is really insistent so I suppose his choice and have to support him all we can. But boy I did inwardly scream when he drops marks down to silly mistakes. I could see through if he couldnt answer the questions.
I also am starting to think it is a boy thing ~We are all going to hell and guess who Is driving the bus~*Norn Iron club Member 294* (Hi, we’ve had to remove part of your signature. Another issue I have is that my DS says they start the test in school before break and finish it afterwards! She isn't getting the tests finished at the minute because she can't judge what time she has left. I think it's ridiculous really.0

What have you all found to be the best practice papers to use
We have been using transfer test.cim and the packs from easons cea and gl
I think I read that some are harder than others certain publications can anyone advise which ones0 -
Welcome to the forum Rainbowmc! You'll get plenty of advice and support on here!
We're using the CEA papers which I bought in Easons and I find them great. Almost finished them though so I'll be on the look out for more if anyone can advise other good ones?
With regards to your DS rushing the papers, I found sticking my head round the door every 15 minutes and reminding DD of how much time had gone/was left really helped her to pace herself. Also leaving a little clock on her desk or in her eyeline while she's doing a paper helps too. The CEA do revision booklets with short timed exercises which I found useful also. Xxx0 -
Thanks yes I tell him time remaining it's just sill mistakes and when you recheck the test you could choke him because the marks could easily jump from 60 % to near 80 after his correction . Corrections which he gets right and knows how to do if he read the question properly
Doesn't help when p7 teacher has been saying a school is a school no matter whether it's granmar or secondary he will be educated
Maybe I'm wanting him to do well for the wrong reasons0 -
