Well great day yesterday. Museum was excellent and just enough time for a 6yr old. Managed to keep spends to a minimum of car parking and a cup of tea for me buy taking packed lunches. Then packed boys off to nanny's for a sleepover and we had a lovely meal (quite reasonable too), followed by James Bond! DS1 now has a friend over before heading out to his cousins birthday party. I'm supposed to be doing jobs but really can't be bothered! Back garden needs some attention for an hour but fortunately the relentless heavy rain is stopping it!!

Just one more week till payday and then TT's and money shuffles can restart.

I had a think about amending targets and have added a couple to the first page so that i've got a 'mini' target for the next 4 months.

  • Wow tiring day supposedly doing nothing. Nothing done but shattered! Had a good walk in the wind with dog. The wind makes him crackers and he was charging about here there and everywhere!

We've worked out our most ey for the week and only need £4 for swimming so all things bring equal we'll comfortably make it to payday.

Oh, money shuffled through TSB and Halifax accounts. Halifax rewards still going strong. I keep wondering how long I'll get away with it; 9months x £15 so far!

  • Very productive hour spent sorting kids Christmas presents out. We've never been a couple that outlay massive amounts for one day. Always get them a good main present but then we don't go overboard on mountains of junk! So main present for each ordered, and club card vouchers converted to spend on other presents. We've also got the list of ideas together with the intention of boxing it all off by the end of November. Then Mrs SJ can concentrate on her family (mainly consists of clothes shopping which i thankfully have nothing to do with!

  • Hiya

Tidied 13p from food budget. Tidied 8p from entertainment budget. Have gone back to £5 per week for each so that is better than it looks!! :D

Am doing decorating which is costing money so I have to earn it somehow and also 'priced up' stuff I want to sell on e-bay (i.e. checked out what others were selling similar for). Hope to get stuff on e-bay tomorrow!

    Cool mini targets.

Iv'e updated my front page with the amount of term saved by OP. Have you worked out how much of the term you have cut with your OP's yet?
    Total Mortgage OP £61,000
    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100
I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>

  • Lippy At the minute for every month i manage a £500 OP it knocks a month off the term. That will naturally increase as the compound interest takes greater effect. For this year with the amounts over £500 that I've managed actually account for an extra month meaning that I'll knock 13months off. If I can keep this up the yearly bonus month gives me hope of making it under 9 yrs.

Lots of things to negotiate to get to that however!! Currently I'm over the moon with reducing the term by a month and anything else is a bonus.
