Teacher has had a well deserved rest this weekend! I did threaten to clean and re grout the shower but my motivation level for this was zero. I managed a 7 mile run yesterday which was a lovely hour out of the house. I timed it for mid afternoon to do my best to break the day up. Mrs SJ looks like she has started with tonsillitis, which is a bit of a nuisance with the issues they have going on at work. I'm predicting she's going to be in a fair bit of discomfort by tomorrow morning.
Moneywise I OP'd our weekly TT pot which amounted to £4.70 and then added on a bit of current account interest of £2.07. I also made contact with the bank this evening to cancel out OP standing order that was due for payment on Weds. This cash will go into my holding pot for the time being. Fingers crossed everything works out and I will make a sizeable OP in 2-3 months time.

Tonsillitis confirmed and thankfully antibiotics are already 3 doses in. Home schooling was as tough as ever today. In all seriousness the comprehensions that have been set for DS2 are ridiculous. I think I've got my head around the maths work, the spellings and the reading. But comprehensions...! Tomorrow morning I'm going to set some maths work and then have a research for some English type lessons that I can use. I'm very aware that I'm not teaching them anything and I'm really just facilitating a stack of homework. It'll be a long tough job for teachers when the kids all go back to school in trying to catch up.
I haven't got a massive amount of work work to do, but it has been a challenge trying to slot things in. It seems that everytime I think the coast is clear for an e-mail, a reply or a phone call, and I get the inevitable "Dad...."
At least my pain was ended with a 4.5 mile run and then a mile dog walk this evening... Moneywise I have nothing to report. It is the end of a month tomorrow but I only have minimal OP's to report so I don't have the same enthusiasm for it! I will report in though as progress is progress!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......8 -
At least you haven't roped the kids in for a run - yet.Today I saw a dad & son out jogging - and it was the dad that was lagging behind, red faced and out of puffAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.197

Just a thought but how many of the children in their classes do you think are actually doing any homeschooling? According to the rules around here they are not supposed to be learning anything new. The ones who are attending school would have such mixed classes that it is more like playschool.

It is retaining the habit of working that is key to the home-working for the children. I agree the intention isn't for the parents to teach them something new but revision of what they have learned with their teachers will reinforce that learning and it all helps. My niece is very impressed that her Y7 students have been asking lots of questions which means they are bored with too much freedom and actually attempting the work she set.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
