Well this home schooling malarky is extremely tiresome! I reckon I could cope with 1, but 3...? And spaced apart at ages 4, 7 and 11...! I also feel very inadequate when DS1 asks me some of the things he doesn't understand, as invariabely neither do I! Kids have been hard to motivate or get concentrating this afternoon. I'm wondering if I've asked them to do too much...especially the 7yr old... Ah well, only 4 months of it to go at least.
Little to report moneywise. Payday is tomorrow whcih is nice. And the one shining light about everything being shut is that we may have a cheap month as surely even Mrs SJ can't manage to spend...
I'll be back on to look at peoples diaries later. I am desperate need of a run later, as cabin fever is kicking in already. I am so not used to being indoors and barley moving for so long.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......7 -
Don't envy you on the teacher front. The kids next to me are out enjoying the trampoline and sunshine, make hay . . . as the saying goes, their mum mighty busy working from home - she's a teacher !!!and receiving numerous emails telling me shops are still selling via the net, hope Mrs SJ doesn't get them !!!Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.196

Lots of humorous homeschool suggestions around. I quite like this one

Poor you Jimmy! It might be that the kids needed a runaround too - almost everything I see about kids at home right now, on tv, is the kids doing exercises courtesy of free you tube videos. Joe Wicks is doing some. Hope you enjoyed your run

It doesn't help having 2 very clever boys! I only knew half of the answers to DS1s spelling, punctuation and grammar this morning! School have sent 3 lessons a day, which have been fairly interactive for the eldest and he has a live history lesson at 1pm. Don't worry they're having plenty of trampoline time, and then we've combined dog walk and bikes/scooters for our family outing!
Moneywise it's payday today. I have some money shuffles to sort with my first wave into holding pot, but that will have to wait till the kids aren't flying around. In the meantime I TT'd 95p this morning.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......8 -
£1.06 TT this moring. Just about to go and ring the bell to start school!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......7

Ooh, I used to love ringing the bell at the end of lunch (nothing to do with being a noisy obnoxious child, obvs). Was very disappointed when the school moved to a new building with no bell!

So used the time to open a current account for our 11 yr old this afternoon. Did it with him, explained about how it works, what we'll do with pocket money, money from birthdays and all that carry on... Anyway I opened with Natwest as I have one (donor switching account) and you can open without going in. When I logged in I found £40 hanging about in there. I have no idea why I hadn't withdrawn it, and can only think that I'd left it in there ready for the next account switch. Seeing as I may not make any OP's for a few months I transferred it and sent it to the mortgage. Made me feel a whole better!
Home schooling this afternoon wasn't easy so I got all the old paints out and they made a mess for 40mins! That settled them down for a 20mins maths blast. I suspect they're getting fed up of 'dad teacher' now. Going to set some targets up in the garden tomorrow for spellings. They can shoot Nerf guns and whatever they hit they can spell! I think they'll be spelling Dad an awful lot...or head...or leg...!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......11
