  • Looking forward to November's update :)
  • Well after a month away from work, I came back to family carnage!! Not sure how Mrs SJ managed to keep a lid on things with 3 kids and a full time job, before all the other things that happened. I then had 36hrs to prepare a presentation before a job interview and cope with jetlag! Got myself into a state over the interview on the morning (I had been up since 2am) wondering why I was putting myself through it...anyway interview actually went very well (I can't remember any of the questions or my answers though). Unfortunately I came a close 2nd and the one thing I thought may be my major hurdle was the thing that stopped me getting appointed. So not much I could have done and my feedback was excellent. I was devastated at first, but 24hrs later I was fine...at least I have a job.

Family carnage hasn't settled yet. If anything it has gotten much worse and Mrs SJ is struggling somewhat, so keeping a close eye on her.

Moneywise I have an October update to post which I will do this afternoon (currently 'working from home' as both boys are off school poorly), and then update signature and the challenges that I'm in. Considering I wasn't here we still managed to keep up with financials and the month was ok OP wise. The only thing that I didn't keep up with was TT's.

So I'm back, jetlag has been defeated and we move onwards to the end of 2019.

Good for you to take the interview on the chin... next time hey, life's full of learning :D

Lovely to see you back Jimmy. Sounds like your absence has been tough on Mrs SJ. I am sure she will be happy to have you back.
  • Well both boys are possibly worse than yesterday! So I'm off today again, but this time not working from home so I'll be catching up on diaries. I ended up going in work 3-8.15 anyway yesterday so not far off a full day in.

24p TT to start the day off today. Feels good to be TTing again. I like that sense of control it gives me albeit a tiny progress.

Thoughts start turning to Christmas and what is exciting is that I finish for Christmas on the 11th...:j

Good to see you back SJ - we have missed your posts. I put my TTs into a (low) interest account at one of the banks and then pay small lumps off the mortgage. I have found myself setting secondary targets to round the mortgage down to round numbers too. It's a whole new area of fun with finance!

Indeed she is happy to have me back... Quote - "I'll give you 3 days to recover from the flight then I'll give you your list of jobs I want doing..." :(

Rounding down is torturous for me as I can never find an end point. If current account is tidy, then the TT pot account isn't  If I round down the mortgage then the account I've taken the rounding down now isn't

So my ploy is to tidy the mortgage account from current account on mortgage day, and then do daily TT's to tidy the current account. Then I ignore all other unitdy accounts!
