Sorry to greet you’ve all got the bug. Hoping for a speedy recovery in the SJ house

  • Not much going on. Definite improvement in poorly symptoms but not enough. I've had 2 x 15min dog walks and they've exhausted me! Empty house this afternoon as Mrs SJ has took the kids to visit her mum and get them out the house for a bit. I've tidied, hoovered the living room and washed all the ill blankets for a mental attack on living room where we've all just festered for the best part of a week. Am now half watching the Liverpool match in between snoozing.

I've tried reading diaries but have no concentration so given up on that! 75p TT made this morning and Mrs SJ has spent our first £177 on Christmas shopping! Determined to stick to budget this year...(he says for the 10th year running...!!).

Dog walking is not the only thing you've done today, look at that list!!! Get some sleep!
/endrant, oops :) Seriously, great to hear you're on the mend, but take it a little bit slowly :)

  • Had my weekly joy of OPing my TT pot this morning. So £4.29 winged its way to the mortgage...BOOM!!

Agreed. Very addictive and very often the thing that keeps me on track with this marathon - 77p for me today :j

Payday today for me, so paying out day tomorrow :( But paying out day also means money shuffles day.

94p TT to start the day off on a sound footing, whilst the kettle was boiling. Even though the 'pay yourself first' money shuffles are automated, I was always like to check on them! So £400 winging its way to S&S Isa's, money winging its way to temporary savings for cars, Christmas, holidays and kids everyday things, and I've repaid £125 to the mortgage some cash that the mortgage OP pot loaned us (9 more payments to go on this agreement)! A load of bills paid as well, but they're not so exciting...

Also we're more about buying experiences than plastic stuff, so I've bought some tickets for a family Christmas day out to Monster trucks. The boys will love it!

Black Friday was safely negotiated. Only 1 purchase of a Christmas present for DS1 which was on our list anyway, £80 saving which is a lovely bonus.

TT's have been good and amounted to £6.17 for the week. So a nice OP to start the month of December off. That leads me nicely to report that I have finalised Novembers accounts and will post them next.

Well another month evaporates before our very eyes, and we inch a touch closer to mortgage freedom. Now that we have split out focus between mortgage and retirement/investments each month seems a little docile, but I suppose docile is nice with no major surprises either way!

    Month 57
    • Closing Balance - £77,386.40
    • OP's - £203.94
    • Net Reduction - £602.97
    • % Loan Remaining - 56.90

    Length of Diary Figures
    • Total Reduction - £58,614.11
    • Average Monthly Reduction - £1,028.32
    • Cumulative OP's - £31,824.72
    • Average Monthly OP's - £558.33
