£15 earned from refereeing this morning. Promptly spent £10 if at a play centre with DS2. Originally the plan was Mrs SJ & DS1 to cinema and i was taking DS2 to the park, but the horrendous downpour scuppered that plan! But as it was bonus money from refereeing i don't mind spending it on the kids and this makes me feel like i've still had a nsd.

Once it dried up i took DS2 out on his bike for an hour, so we're now winding down waiting for bath time.

We have 31 items ending this evening. 5 have definitely sold (so we'll make £10 at least), and i'll relist the rest to end next weekend. Mrs SJ will use the paypal fund which is currently at £133 for DS2's birthday in August, so our declutter will be set to good purpose!

Cracking day today as it was a NSD :j

Which unfortunately means no spare change into the jar, and am only 33p off a £5 over payment :(

So whilst its been a very quiet MSE day i thought id share 3 things that make me smile:
    • LTV is now 59.52% meaning we'll always access the best rates from now on :j
    • We've made over payments of £2,138.74 since March's remortgage :T
    • Our net reduction since March is £4,457.60

My top tip for a motivation through any lulls is to open your spreadsheet and focus on some of those big numbers and successes. It definitely makes me smile!

Day off with DS2 today. After school run we're just finishing breakfast (he';s on his second bowl of shreddies, amazing for a 2yr old), then off to play group. Its his last one before finishing for the summer and after that its nursery.

Got a few ebay items to post, so hoping to make a few £ off postage costs to add to the paypal birthday fund.

After that its nip to see grandma, then back to school run. Fingers crossed for a dry evening to get the boys out to the park and on bikes.

Today defintiely won't be a NSD as the play group will set me back a whole £1, then ice creams at the park will put a dent in that £5 note in my wallet! On the plus side it may give me some change to make up that 33p for an over payment £5!

    Edits
Post office done and 22p change for the jar. Agonizingly 11p short! Too wet for park so no ice creams either!

After some advice and opinions. After viewing lots of diaries i've seen lots of different methods of signature which gets me thinking of revamping mine.

What do people prefer to see/read when they have a quick glance at diaries? I quite like the idea of crossing off the balance but not sure what intervals to set it at. After that i'm open to all ideas...

Apologies for extra post bu just had an interesting phone call off Admiral Car Insurance. Last week i took my car insurance with them (cheapest i could find) at £22.02 per month.

Today they've offered me a multi car discount if i switch Mrs SJ's car to them and reduce mine by £5 per month. Now Mrs SJ's initial quote was naturally too high so i told them i was interested provided they'd match the current quote. After a discussion about Mrs SJ's no claims discount they offered to increase this by 3 yrs in order to bring the quote down. This brought it all but matched (£1) out.

    Still following...

So i left it that id have a think about it and requested a call back. I'm hoping to knock that last £1 off, but either way i'll take the offer owing to the extra no claims for Mrs SJ.

Can anyone see a draw back? Or has anyone experience of this? Or does it prompt anyone to ring them up and try it on ;)

£15 kindly donated by Halifax and sent to mortgage. That's 2 days of interest for the month taken care of. Its also £60 from Halifax since the diary started in March!

    Enjoy your day.

Thanks debt. It's been a good few days and I can happily announce I have 41p of small change today. So that's a bonus £5 being overpaid tomorrow

    Cheers debtfree

I made the exact same noise when i clicked 'proceed' payment :T

Its amazing how such a little amount causes so much joy! I am considering changing the £5 amount to the same amount that reflects 1 day of interest, £7.20 for example. But this may well be over thinking it!

Also thanks for your signature comments. I will change it a bit when i do my monthly update, as i do need to put a 3yr August info to it as well.

I have no other real financial news for now. Having a quick spreadsheet look tells me we'll be approx £926 off the capital for the month with over payments of £462. That keeps us over £916 monthly target to make, and keeps nudging it closer to the dream of 8yrs - though at this rate there'll be a fair bit of catching up!!
