Very quiet weekend really. School summer fair on Saturday but only forked out for bouncy castle passes the didn't see kids for hours! DS1 then had play dates at his friends on Sat and Sun!
I will let you all know about my issue with DS1 and his stabilizers on his bike! DS1 is a clever little boy with a very logical view on things. Quote as a 4yr old - "Why would i want to go on 2 wheels when 4 is safer". Needless to say its been a challenge. Last summer when he was 5 i was fully intended on teaching him. In his stubborn there was a pint blank refusal to go his bike at all, for months! So this last 2 weeks we've had a mexican stand off over the lego Jurassic park game, with me saying it would be a reward for learning to ride etc... (I've been searching for an appropriate bribe). So he comes out of school on Friday with a glowing report and the pressure then mounts from Mrs SJ as its literally the only thing he wants!!
So i upped the ante!! Being cruel to be kind i told him that it was no longer an option to learn and that he was doing it, in the same way that school isn't an option. 20mins later he's sorted! The following day he's mastered stopping and pretty much starting too!
Learning point for me - stop trying to reason with a 6yr old and just tell him how it is!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......1 -

. Glad you resorted to the good old 'because I say so' in the end :rotfl:.
Well done to DS1 :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Quiet couple of days money spending which is always a bonus. Money making wise it's been a good few days for eBay selling 6 things for a total of £76.
We're properly on wind down now before we head to the lakes for 10 days in family caravan. Our intention is for it not being a spendy hols and we're planning on picnics at the beach or lakesides, bbq's, splashing in lakes with sticks, stones and wellies and lots of time on bikes and scooters.
With Mrs SJ pregnant our alcohol spend will plummet to zero, as I'm virtually a non drinker anyway!
I have 2 days left in work but I've blitzed everything today so my plan is to have at least 2 half days off in work! So I'll be posting some things on my diary. I've seen several approaches of listing targets, and as I have many I thought I'd post them and paste onto the opening post for quick viewing.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
