Retro - my habit is to log on each morning when the kettle is boiling. Technically its a start of day tidy rather than an end of day, or you could view it as me tidying a few hours late! Either way i like seeing at least 1 OP per week on the mortgage and the TT pot is a good way, no matter how small.

Miss Lemon & debtfree - ahead for now but always aware that it could all change. A few weeks ago i very nearly took a new job that would have been a pay drop and all chances of OP's would have vanished. So i view it that its good progression as long as it lasts. We have 3 kids that no doubt will quickly spiral our costs!

Alex - I have a several pronged approach to be honest. We have savings pots for the kids long term (individually), kids miscellaneous (for those unexpected spends like a new bed), our long term, holidays, cars etc... I then OP some directly and some goes into a regular saver, so i get that dilemma every March when the reg saver matures. So far it's been a straight forward no thinking £3,600 OP! But i do have the security of keeping it to one side if needed. Time will only tell on this one...

NSD today, well from me anyway but i have no control over Mrs SJ! At least i know she won't spend above her weekly spend though. Tomorrow should be the same, and i'm actually aiming for a Monday-Friday NSW.

No other news to report so i'll sign off for the evening. Night all!

  • TT a whole £1 today! I usually do it while having my cuppa in work in the morning as I get in earlier than everyone else. It's usually my 'me' time at work, but when it's busy and on the weekend the thought just totally fades from my brain! The other side effect of it is I am always checking what is coming out of our account and making sure we keep spends low so that has helped quite a lot since we started TT! :)

Gotta confess I always like a whole £1 TT! We're about to hit the mid month slump of little money activities so TT's really help for motivation and monentum, as does checking on funding circle for payments coming in. By Friday we should have enough in repayments to bid on another loan which always feels like a mini achievement. The account is at 7.2%growth for the last 10 months and it really is a place for our long term savings that we have no intention of touching.

NSD today which is always a nice bonus. Couple of bids on our relisted items with 2 selling for £4.50 at the moment. Made a couple of errors on MB today so will end up about £20 down, grrr! Will try and make that back tomorrow though.

    Night all

Morning update. TT for the day was 16p, and then i rounded up some interest from my 2 TSB and 2 Tesco accounts and OP'd it. Not much cash in those accounts at the minute as we've just bought a car and went on holiday in May. Anyway we had £9.36, which is very nearly 2 days of interest accounted for.

11 hour work day today, and aiming for my 3rd NSD....

    I'll report back tonight...

8,000 thanks... who'd have thought it!! I'm targeting 2,000 posts now you've made me look!

NSD achieved, that's 3 in a row. Not sure I'll hit 4 as I'm off with DD tomorrow so play centre will beckon I think.

Still not sorted car insurance, even though im accepting the requote. In truth I'm reluctant to accept as I think there'll be a better option with £50 cash back! Will definitely sort it tomorrow!

Car insurance sorted, but alas no cashback. Only 18p to TT this morning so Sundays pot will be a small one I'm afraid. I did manage a 4th NSD as DS hasn't been great and decided to projectile vomit all over the couch and carpet. Truly an astonishing amount of vomit considering she's 18months old and had refused food all morning!

So we now sit in a rather smelly living room and no matter how much Mrs SJ tries to clean, the smell returns!

2 eBay items have bids so far. They end on Sunday so hopefully we'all get a few more items selling.

Well early night for me, as it doesn't smell in our bedroom!

Baby SJ will no doubt be full of beans now, and feeling much better. Hope so, anyway.

Hope the above link helps, I used it when I needed to clean my sofas, not of vomit though, I hasten to add.
