  • Hiya All

Am really on the money saving now as what with hospital car parking (£24) and extra petrol (£40) and one meal and two rounds of sanis and coffees out I am at least £100 out of pocket :( All in the great cause though of looking after DS1 + GFs doggies and cleaning their house while GF and GD1 had to stay in hospital for 5 days as GD1 was tiny! Both her parents are tiny folk and as I said you cannot get a cabbage out of Brussel Sprouts!

Need to get up to speed with Fleabay - although you dont make a vast profit SJ - seem to make something most weeks - have you ever added it up over say each month and then (soon) the first year of this diary???

So, my TTs are: Food budget: 0.92 Happy Stash £5.25. total = £6.17
This was achieved because I have not been out for a curry nite and only bought one meal deal £3.25 and a couple of drinks out!

I could go out to a social event tomorrow and am debating whether to go or not. I have loads to do in the house (having not been here all week!) and it would save money not to go out. I dont want to go out particularily but my friends might think Im being snooty as I usually always go on these things. I know Im lucky to have such decisions to make!! :rotfl:
    Night all

Barclays is the only other I can think of at the mo. Maybe hit topcashback/quidco and open some credit cards. Plenty of offers to choose from.

    Outstanding Mortgage £27,971
    Emergency Fund £62,100

I did that the other day. There was an offer on TCB of £31.50 for the Post Office CC but I've just checked and it's now £26.25. Bear in mind I've got that membership thing so if you haven't it'll be slightly lower CB.
  • Great idea having a switching account that cycles around the banks collecting money :)
  • Think I'm going to avoid CC offers for the time being. Natwest and RBS are another I haven't hit yet so I'll keep them on the radar for current account t switch offers. I have at least 2 months before I can do anything else anyway so no rush.

Well epic fail to do Feb accounts last night. Mrs SJ opted for a bath, so with bots in bed nice and 'on time' I snatched the tv remote, stocked up on treats and a giant mug of tea and watched the revenant. i must say I was disappointed. In the main I'm a Leo fan (he doesn't do a bad performance), but I thought it was a bit long! My attention span must have plummeted with baby 3!

59p TT'd this morning and I promise I'll sift through and post our accounts at lunch...!

  • Well naughty SJ, I've left it very late to post but here goes:
    • Total OP's - £786.32 :j
    • Net Reduction - £1,276.32 :j
    • Closing Balance - £123,494.36 :j
    • LTV - 55.88%
    • Loan Remaining - 90.80%
    • Daily Interest - £6.73

We've had a fantastic month for OP's to close out year 1 (further posts to discuss on their way), and we're really excited about the progress we're making. Overall we're well on track to finish this thing in 8 more years, but also acutely aware that things can quickly change. So we don't look too far ahead and are very happy to make hay whilst the sun shines!

Balance wise the 110k's are 3-4months away, and an ambitious mini challenge emerging is to remortgage in 12 months time for £110k!

So, thank you to all my crazy readers for keeping me motivated, you really have helped to accelerate our efforts.
