If so we'll close it
Joking aside as I was earlier.....
- If we/you want a dedicated alert thread where they can be flagged up to those interested or who care, forum Team and probably more important normal users, then such a thread should probably be separate.
- And the same for any other discussion of the 'bots' should they get around the latest measure and reappear.
So I can't see any particular reason to keep this one going.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

How about we close this one and if you see spam on a particular day you start a thread eg "spam xx Sept 2015".
The board guides are doing fantastically at keeping on top of the few that do get through nowCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Hi Andrea, if you look at the members using this thread recently (aside from BGs) and on Martin's apology thread, quite a few haven't started a single thread so changing it to having to start a new thread would probably lose those helpers.
I would keep it as it is, at least for a while longer, rather than close it.
At the moment, it looks like it has been successful in helping focus MSE on giving more priority to stopping spam.
Why change it?0 -

There is a thread in the Arms called 'Bash the Spam' where individuals would report a new spammer if they saw one somewhere around the forum.
That's the kind of thread that could be started in here, just a single thread that members and BG's could update as time goes along and then others could choose to go and click the spam button from the link provided.
A new thread daily would be messy and require attention from midnight to close one and open another. This board doesn't have a pro-active BG and the Forum team already has enough work to keep them busy (except on a Friday)

How will it work on weekends and bank holidays? Some joined up thinking is required here. MSE Towers forum wise is not known for a daily week day response let alone weekends and bank holidays!0 -

Do these types of posts actually help? Clicking on the link it takes us to the poster concerned but shows he/she has no posts. Is this because the post has already been deleted or just that the username is suspicious?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
