Now that the spambots have been stopped from operating I would like to ask for this thread to be closed as it serves no futher useful purpose.

The thread was started to discuss ways of stopping the bots, all it is used for now is to post links to random spammers, not even bots most of them.

Close this thread and start a new one that will be more relevant to the current situation.

Hi Andrea, the impression I had was it was quite useful to have BGs and forum members posting links to spammers.


Torbrex says the thread serves no further useful purpose now 'spambots' have stopped, but I would leave it open for a while as there is still spam being reported daily.


I think everyone will be pleased if it carries on at this much reduced rate, good work so far by MSE techs.

I agree found it useful to find spammers on here I also use spam in search to find them but it does often given false positives like spam folder
