haven't been on for a while due to the excessive amounts of spam that seem to clog the forum up for hours. It becomes unusable sometimes.
Reading through this thread I see nothing has changed.0 -
There are over 180 spam posts this morning from 2 posters. I don't get why this is continuing and getting worse on a daily basis. I am bored of clicking spam. I will like others go elsewhere as nothing seems to be down about it.0

it is impossible to use the spam button on all of these threads this morning.
7 plus pages on the b.r board means people who need advice will not be getting prompt replies.
Its not funny any more.0 -
I wonder whether the only way to get MSE on high to pull their finger out and deal with it once and for all (forgawdsake it must be so easy to ban foreign characters from showing up at source) is for the Board Guides to simply refuse to delete any more of these threads.
The Board Guides have been doing sterling work keeping on top of it - but, if they go on strike against doing MSE's job for it, then surely MSE on high would HAVE to get on with sorting the problem out at source?0 -

good to see that a member joining on the 1st of July can post 218 new threads of spam without being stopped, brings a tear to my eye.
its not about removal, its about stopping them getting that far.
shift them yourself, I've had it.0 -
And i'm trying to post 3 images in a thread to explain a boundary problem but i'm blocked because i might be a spammer!

haha, the bots have spammed 19 pages of threads in this one sub alone!
Think the filter/flood setup needs tweaking.0 -

Quite. I've pressed the button on about ten threads this morning, but don't have the time to do more.
I would...
1. Limit the number of posts a new poster could post on their first day to ten.
2. Forbid posts from new posters that are not in English or if not technically possible, made up if non standard characters... the default language of the site is English therefore multiple threads in a different character type should be blocked.
3. If any two posts by a new poster have the spam button pressed on their first day of membership, then the rest should be auto removed.
4. The above points should be added to the guidelines for new forum users, so that anyone falling foul of them only has themself to blame. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
