Gawd - tell me about it.

I came on this morning in the middle of their latest bout of spamming and got virtuous and reported some of them - but am getting very fed-up with this being a daily occurrence at the moment.

You do sometimes wonder whether to send an appropriately strong PM to the spammer whilst they're online - but I don't suppose there would be a human at the end of the line to read it??

They'd probably only try and find a way to retaliate at the human for having the nerve to tell them off for doing wrong...:cool:

If there are 2 spammers on at one time, I have copied the contents of one post and sent it by PM to the other spammer and vica versa

It doesn't stop them but it does slow them down as the bot operator has to stop and cancel the PM notice, I have kept it up for a while more to satify my own frustrations than any hope of stopping them.

Slight snag I see there is that the b&ggers might gang up with each other to increase the effectiveness of their attacks.

I think all these Chinese spambots though must be the brainchild of just one individual/firm - even when there are 2 or 3 of them on at the same time spamming away under different names.

They are more likely to be originating from India - the new spam capital of the world. 99% of the spammers and scammers we deal with on a forum I help to moderate originate from India.
