Sounds like a great idea to sell the watches to fund the course Alex. Hope things improve with your parents soon - remember to remove yourself from their company if needed!
Well, I hoping profits from selling other things will fund but if not it's not the end of the world.
My parents are really struggling at the moment.2018 totals:

:rotfl: My wife has said something similar. She told me I'm quick to update when the finances are showing an upwards trend but avoid it when things are not as positive. Things are not dire but we have had better months.May be the reason I'm also avoiding MSE a little too.
We've things to look forward to this holiday but will also be having a fairly quiet time too. I am a little reluctant to plan too much - September is set to be busy.
Road trip? Where are you going?2018 totals:

We are driving to the north of Italy over several days - basically driving in the morning/early afternoon and then exploring and eating in the town we are staying in, then driving on the next day. We have done it before and choose different places to stay on the way down - Trier was a revelation (I believe it was where Charlemagne had his headquarters so plenty of history, also Luxembourg City with a post-Tour de France gala one year). This year we are staying in Netherlands, Luxembourg (not the city), Germany and a small place just through the Brennar Pass outside Bolzano (we like Sud Tirol) before a week in a Villa at the same time as the Blues Festival at Malcesine on Lake Garda (the Villa is a short drive from there), then a few days in a hotel we know well in the Dolomites before back via Germany and Netherlands. I drive as I enjoy it and my husband does the commuting driving the rest of the year. I really enjoy the drive as part of the holiday. We take a local ferry (less than 20 miles from home) so it feels as though the holiday starts straight away. Ooh I feel quite excited now!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £9586.01 out of £6000 after August (158.45%)

Was just thinking, we have the luxury of putting things off. Think of Little LK when he doesn't want to do his homework. There you are - treat it as homework , that your not allowed to "put off"
Great to see (read) all the positives coming out in your posts. You have came a very long way:T
And had a good giggle at your reply to the Dr at your dad's appt, about him now having a sense of humour :rotfl: loved your reply :T I do think you may have enjoyed giving that answer
And also love the way you just casually mention a couple of watches you have not used in a while. est £20,000  some wouldn't even see that money in a year, never mind in 2 watches
Keep up the good work, have a great holiday and . . . . get your homework doneAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

Trying to stay positive. Had a good (impromptu) weekend away. We went on Friday afternoon and got back late on Sunday. Yesterday and today have both been a bit of a write-off for me as I cannot seem to motivate myself.
:rotfl: Re. my father. Yes, I enjoyed giving the answer. We still have no diagnosis. The medical profession believe his changes in behaviour are MH related after extensive investigation. My mother is not willing to accept this and is gravely concerned about his future as she believes the medical profession have missed something. He can be forgetful but his mind does seem to be elsewhere and has been for a while. I know I have been terribly forgetful especially when things were really bad for me. Father seems very regretful of the past but is attending counselling sessions. Had quite a few difficult discussions with him but also found out a lot about his life which I didn't know. He's kept his word over deferring to my methods on such an occasion my son is not behaving as he should be. Really pleased my son seems to have noticed this, is less weary and wants to spend more time with my father.
I didn't mean to be ostentatious re. watches.2018 totals:

There is not one of us, who does not put off "something" till another day. So your just like the rest of us
And as for not motivating yourself after a lovely weekend away, well can't think of anyone who does
Hope someone gets to the bottom of your father's condition very soon, always best to know what you are dealing with, that way you can start to tackle it
I never thought for a minute you were being ostentatious re; the watches. I just love the way it's so matter of fact to you making comments like that :A Can't help smiling when I see comments like that :TAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
I have to agree with frayedknot. Procrastination is very normal.:D
I didn't turn a hair or raise an eyebrow or react in any way when I read about the watches. We know you although I can see why a casual reader might be surprised.
It's a positive that your father is engaging with counselling. Even if another diagnosis is confirmed at a later date he certainly wants to talk (as you know only too well ) so talking to a professional has to be a benefit to you both!
When do you leave for Spain?:)
Not sure whether you've read this Alex? It may help you to guard against excessive workload.

Of course, you will have to work within school policies and be subject to closer monitoring in the coming two years until you achieve QTS but that's meant to be supportive (and complain like mad if it's not!!);).0
