Finances are still managing to look rather healthy.
Decluttering / sale is going well and we've raised a few more £££s.
Also, going to be making a £500 mortgage overpayment tomorrow.
Pokemon catching is slow at the weekend, they're all in big towns / cities.Wife catches quite a few at work but son has lost interest a little because they're not real.

I had my father on the 'phone this evening. Apparently, it's time I stopped being a "silly child" and "must" go to see them tomorrow. This is because we didn't have lunch with them again.:rotfl:0

NG, what can I say? It's not my son's fault he has a pathetic father. It's not the first time and I doubt it will be the last.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Just because you have not seen them doesn't mean they are not real
Actually it reminds me of an interview I saw with Roald Dahl's daughter the other day. She was convinced there was a BFG at the bottom of the garden growing up - it was her dad, he went down the garden every night with a big long stick and hid whilst swishing all the branches trees aroundMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Alex you sound like your mood is better. Must be having little LK around.0

No must about it. You are not a child and don't let him treat you like one. Be strong Alex. Call by briefly when it suits you but don't be summoned so not tomorrow.
Did not go there today, so had father on the 'phone this evening. The in-laws did unexpectedly come to ours today, as they were in the area. So, after they called with a 20 minute warning, son and I were on operation tidy up (throw things in cabinets / book shelves / spare bedroom). :rotfl: Mother-in-law thought it disgusting but funny that I apologised for the state of the kitchen as we'd been playing about with cars all weekend and the cleaning lady doesn't turn up until tomorrow. She told my wife that she thought her daughter would have "higher standards" ... :rotfl:. Was a bit embarrassing; the scummy-semi (joke)is always immaculately clean and tidy.
Wound up cooking a meal for five this evening (nothing fancy: salmon, new potatoes, green beans, broccoli and peas) and shared a bottle of wine with my wife for the first evening in a long time.A_Frayed_Knot wrote: »NG, what can I say? He likes the pokemon still. The thing he likes the most is the fact he can see the ones he's caught on my 'phone. Has given me an idea that we could take photographs of wildlife we spot.

Do you have a link to the interview? I love revisiting all the Roald Dahl books I read as a child with my son.smallholdingsister wrote: »Alex you sound like your mood is better. Must be having little LK around.
My mood is quite a lot better. It definitely helps that my son is around. Also, at the moment I think my marriage is just about the best it's ever been.Finances are looking good and lots to look forward to this summer. Lots to be positive about, so trying not to dwell on other aspects of life which aren't so good.

Summer holidays: Day 1.
Today my son and I were mainly sorting out sold items and posting them all over the world which lead to us finding the countries some of the items were going to on the globe. Also had some time for playing piano duets and entertaining the in-laws. Three local walks with a badger spotted this evening. I had a terrible night's sleep so we had a very lazy morning: bacon sandwich and tea in the sitting room (shocking parenting
) listening to Miles Davis' Kind of Blue.
Submitted mortgage OP and only spent £5.45. So, calling that a win.
Ought to go to bed soon or tomorrow will end up being a complete write off.2018 totals:
