My son's got it - he's 28!
Seen a few people walking past the house staring silently down into their phones instead of having it glued to their ears talking away.
Have you heard about the 2 men in San Diego who fell off a cliff whilst playing it? Apparently one fell 75 feet and while he was being rescued they found his friend, unconscious, 50 feet down!0 -
I think it's great, the last couple of days we have seen loads of families out together walking and looking for pokemon.
It's getting older teenagers out and about, talking to others they don't know, and adults are having fun.
I can't see the harm, enjoy it while you can0 -
Ds2 was out all day yesterday catching them, it's like a zombie apocalypse round here with random people wandering alone in odd directions :rotfl:
:rotfl: Can't say I've noticed anything out of the ordinary around here but perhaps that's because we're too busy looking for them.
Battery life on my 'phone suffers terribly for it, though.smallholdingsister wrote: »Pokemon is huge at school.
Great positives around money and how you are relating to Mrs LK and your FIL.
What about a list of free/cheap summer holiday activities so you are prepared?
It's huge at the secondary I volunteer at too.
Yes, some positives there but today has been awful. Terrible night's sleep, have been feeling incredibly low and had quite a severe panic attack earlier. I know what's triggered these thoughts and hope it's all over with soon. Not been out the house today, have done an awful lot of decluttering / work to furniture though, so not all bad.
We've got a list of things we plan to do over summer. Apart from the days out planned (1/2 per week), I've got a lot of walks planned (some different places to visit with son and dog), time with cousin and horses etc. Should keep him occupied. My son's got it - he's 28!

Technically it's me that's got the app and I'm 35... Just for my son though, of course.
Not heard about the men in San Diego but it doesn't surprise me.2018 totals:

My son loves it ... have to admit my wife and I do too.Seems like we keep catching the same ones though at the moment. That said, there's rich pickings in Chesterfield and we caught a few new ones there.

Or maybe you are one of the "zombies" :rotfl:
Hope you are feeling a bit better today Alex, good on you for carry on with the decluttering when you are not at your best, have a good week
Ps. Did you see the clips online of loads of people playing Pokemon at Central Park NY , apparently there was a really rare one there!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I am delighted to read about your Pokemon adventures!
As my boys have got older I've taken a "if you can't beat them; join them" approach with computer and phone games. It has provided a shared activity and a useful way to start a conversation with the children as they get older. Also I think it matters to them that you get involved in something that they are interested in. So we will also be getting Pokemon go and wandering around as Zombies:rotfl:MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000

Oh Alex, I can't believe how much you've changed since you started coming on here :rotfl::T:rotfl:.
I think it's amazing!!:T
It also seems a (relatively) harmless bit of fun that's getting people out and about. My DGD sent me a What'sApp message yesterday to show me the one she'd captured in her mum's car:D.
As you didn't get out yesterday Alex, I'm assuming that means you didn't get to have roast beef and all the usual trimmings that go with that (and I'm not talking about Yorkshires and horseradish);). I admire you hugely for sticking to your guns and not apologising when you're not the one in the wrong. Whatever happens, please don't spend big chunks of LittleK's break dragging him off to the big house. Aside from the reasonable amount of treats and walks planned he needs to be at home with his dad (and mum when available).
On the subject of MrsK's job, it does sound that if they're not advertising the colleague's job then there must be less work available. If that's not the case and MrsK really can demonstrate that her workload has increased by 100% then she needs to talk to her employers.
Hope you're having a better day today Alex and the sun's shining on you.0 -
I went mad for it for a week, but then remembered that I was a grown man :rotfl:0

:rotfl: I shouldn't admit this but I've sent my wife to work with my 'phone as there are more of them in built up areas ... tempted to call and ask what she's caught but think her work colleagues have got a low enough opinion of me already.
Wife had to persuade me, to be honest. Mind, I spent a long time waxing some of my furniture yesterday and quite proud to say it looks lovely today. Actually won't be too ashamed to have pupils come to the house this week.
Not seen the clips ... too busy finding them myself ...Oh Alex, I can't believe how much you've changed since you started coming on here :rotfl::T:rotfl:.
Not sure whether this is positive or not?! :rotfl:Alex

My son hasn't had much exposure to technology and after attending his progress evening, I realise he's "behind". I also realised that he is of the internet age as he cannot comprehend pre-internet ways. Both my wife and I are very into classic cars so my son has grew up with this but he cannot understand how we used to find rare parts in the pre-ebay days or that autotrader used to be a magazine. I suppose it was a bit of a shock to find but as much as I've shielded him from the computer, he is much more aware of it than I thought. My attitude towards it needed to change; I use the computer for all kinds of things and it is a very useful part of life. I realise it's something he needs to learn how to use and if that includes some fun games, that's OK.2018 totals:
