Just to give you the tools to compartmentalise, process and deal with these thoughts however is most appropriate.
It's hard, and difficult to begin with but perhaps something to think of.
Unfortunately, I've talked to a lot of people (I presume you mean professionals), had the therapy, the drugs and anything else they could think of. I wish there was a solution but not so far. In some ways I'm not as bad as I was: I seldom have suicidal thoughts, hardly ever drink anymore and don't engage in seriously harming myself on purpose. So, it's done something or I'm slowly learning to cope better. Partly I force myself to behave like a civilised, sane member of society because I'm terrified my son will realise just how bad I am one day.
Recently, I've tried to become more open and less cynical of some treatments that are meant to help. A few years ago, I actively fought against any methods because I was cynical and didn't want to be "taken in" by something that I thought was "tricking my brain". Before that I fought against any kind of diagnosis, denying everything until I made myself too ill to carry on denying I had a problem. I then convinced myself that the depression was my "true self" and I deserved to be so ill with it, suppose I still think that sometimes. How I handled things in the past seems to carry on haunting me to this day.2018 totals:

Hi Alex,
I'm sorry to hear things haven't been great lately and I hope you're feeling better.
Mr F's depression has been bad since we moved but he has taken up mindfulness using an app called headspace and it's the first thing that really seems to have helped him. He says it hasn't stopped the bad thoughts coming but it does allow him to detach and recognise that they're only thoughts and will pass. It's taken several months to get to that point but really does seem to help, whereas therapy didn't. They do a free 10 day trial so might be worth considering.
Anyway, to cheer you up about rotten MGBs, many years ago Mr F agreed to look after one for a friend which we later ended up buying. Some time later, it failed its MOT. Apparently the wheel arches had been filled, as the nice man in the garage demonstrated by tapping them with his pen- he decided to stop the second time it went throughFor some inexplicable reason we sold it for reshell and bought a midget....

We bought a mg vvc whilst away on a kids karate training weekend years ago - as you do! Drew cash out on the credit card  and bought it the same day, dh drove it home and it caught fire on the way burning my suitcase that we had put in the boot! Sorry to crash your thread, just remembered and wanted to share the shameMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

You didn't buy the rubbish car? Both of those are positives. Went to see another rubbish car today, didn't buy. Why do people insist their rusty garbage is "excellent" with "no rust"? :rotfl:
Positives: my wife, son and I had a nice drive out to see the car in the Triumph Saloon which performed faultlessly.FlacosFloozie wrote: »Hi Alex,

Hello FF.It's been a long time, glad to see you're still posting.
Sorry to hear about your husband's depression. Moving is a difficult time. I'll have a look at the app.I have downloaded a few but whilst they're free to download they all seem to want add ons. I've been a bit better today but am very tired tonight for no reason (overslept this morning). Dreading tomorrow (seeing the parents).

Some car sellers think you won't bother to poke the chassis with a biro to see if it makes a hole.
Years ago when looking for a cheap freelander (I know!) I was amazed at the number of people who said "yes its four wheel drive" when a quick look underneath told another story.0 -
Drawing out cash on (multiple !) credit cards was in the bad old days pre mse, also clearly why we ended up in such a financial mess. Don't know what was wrong with it I can't remember, it was slightly scary as me and the kids were following in the car behind when we saw it go up :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Sellers either lie or think the buyer will be as deluded as they are. :rotfl:
Heard some take the prop off Freelanders: problems with the rear diff I presume?Drawing out cash on (multiple !) credit cards was in the bad old days pre mse, also clearly why we ended up in such a financial mess. Been rather busy over the last few days. Not really had much time to think, probably a good thing as when I have been thinking, it's not been helpful or productive.
Need to have a look over the finances over the next couple of days. I've got used to updating but have neglected over the past few days.
In other news I bought a Spitfire ... so currently have 4 Triumphs. Will enjoy it whilst it lasts as two will be going soon.

2 sold = 1 bought, so you're still 1 down
At least it's going in the right direction
