Realised some things I said to people today (other adults at voluntary school :o) either fell into being undiplomatic or arrogantly rude. Wife seems to think it's nothing unusual, don't know what's wrong with me, to be honest.

If it's appropriate/not awkward, you always have the option to apologise to them directly. If not, making a point of "walking back" your comments in a future conversation can also smooth things over. If they were offended I'm sure they'd appreciate either gesture, and if they weren't then they won't think anything of you for doing so (other than you're oh so nice/polite :)). Either way it'll probably make you feel better (I know it does for me when I realise I've said something stupid).

Not offended Alex, just thought maybe you'd had enough of me telling you off.

That's great news that you and MrsK are going to spend some time together (any significance in it being Valentine's Day;)) and good for LittleK to have a weekend away too.

Great idea to take your parents to the cinema. Maybe they'll get to enjoy it and start widening their horizons.

Half Term next week so all looking positive:).

I must like being told off ... ;)

:rotfl: Whether it's anything to do with Valentine's or not is between Mrs K and I. :p Son will no doubt enjoy being with my cousin and family for the weekend, I just hope he wants to come home.

I mentioned Dad's Army to my parents today. Both thought it would be nice thing to do. They went to the old people's lunch today, it's nice to see them meeting people their own age. I'm not really sure about leaving them as my father seems a lot better, is walking a lot more and seems to want to live rather than waiting to die. Rather concerned he'll go back without my son and I being here.

Lots planned for half term, definitely looking forward to that. :)

I like Dad's Army too. :) It's not showing at the smaller cinema 13 miles away until 4th March but will be showing at the large one in Chesterfield (just as far away), I'm sure. I haven't been to the cinema in a lot of years, so quite looking forward to it.

Thank you and I hope you have a good weekend, also.

:rotfl: I'd be deluded if I think anyone will think me "oh so nice / polite". Do think I've some apologies to make when I see them after half term, though. :o

Today has been a rather nice day, even got up on the right side of the bed after a decent night's sleep. A fair amount of work done and a nice roast cooked. Both parents well. :)

I've transferred my £30 to the savings early and the boiler has been fixed. Whilst I did manage to find the paperwork, we had to pay.

OOC: My son has never seen Dad's Army, so won't be coming to see the film. It was a part of my childhood and I'm quite surprised to find they stopped filming it in 1978, two years before I was born as I presumed it to be a current series during the late '80s.

Had a good weekend with my wife, though we didn't do much apart from driving the classics (lots of petrol burnt!) and looking at a Jaguar XE; another potential company car and by far her / our favourite. :) Awful to say but I can see why she likes to go away on holiday / weekends without our son. I did miss him but it was quite nice to have a break. :o

This evening money, work and the house are on my mind. I know I need to try to earn a little more and despite increasing responsibility within my parents' affairs, I don't collect much of a wage from it and it doesn't exactly occupy much of my time, either. My wife thinks I should have a go at teaching. With regards to the house, we've decided that we would like to see the roof and the bathroom complete by the end of next year, giving us time to save and sell the TR this summer. Ideally, the roof will hopefully be done in time for the winter this year.

A good day been had today, feeling well and quite motivated for the first time in a while. I know I need to get back to making some money and for the first time since before Christmas I've not begrudged having to do so. Had an enlightening conversation with my parents about why they are only allowing me to take a very small wage from their business and about my wider issues in general. Also started writing father's memories down into a journal and cataloguing his old photographs. Was very sad to hear him say he doubts he will see my son reach university age, though.

Mainly spent the day out with the dogs and doing some work for my course. Hoping to venture a little further out to a museum tomorrow with my son and parents.

Nothing financial to report, apart from the fact we're struggling a bit this month. Partly my fault choosing not to do much that earns money and partly due to unexpected bills. On the positive side, we have no overdrafts or credit cards anymore, so no potential for debt which had this month come a few years ago we'd be getting ourselves further into debt. Also, not visited the Bank of Mum and Dad and no intention to. :) Not often I say this but I am pleased it's not long before Mrs K gets paid.
