There's nothing wrong with a 4x4 ... so long as it's a Land Rover. ;) I wish more parents drove sports cars at son's school, I may have something to talk to them about but most have ugly little modern hatches, Japanese 4x4s and the odd Volvo.

Can't say we travel these days. The KS2 class makes Christmas boxes at my son's school, I'd think showing KS1 children why they're being sent would be too upsetting.

Believe me You take your like into your own hands getting into school som days, not many landrovers but quite a few Audi 4 by 4's a few range rovers and a coouple of Japanese ones. We are rural and it is a boating area but I've never once seen them pulling anything.

MiniOCC has made Christmas boxes in school since reception. He understands where they go and why we do them. He is compassionate rather than upset about it. He genuinely likes to help. We will go and pick the things together and he is quite practical picking toothbrushes and soap and we always put a few toys and some sweets in too. I do the educational bit, he finds that dull! The school don't like sweets going in but we don't care, everyone deserves some sweets. You may well be sunrised by how compassionate and practical your son can be.

I was a little surprised when miniOCC gave me a full run down on what the zika virus was this morning and how it effects babies worse. I have no idea where he found that out!

Can't say we have a lot of trouble at my son's school but there's very few children. Nothing wrong with a Range Rover, they've all the right heritage. :)

I think my son would quite enjoy making a Christmas box. We don't really talk about world affairs as I stopped reading / listening to the news a while back. Most uncultured I know but it was making me more ill. Perhaps it's something I ought to face when my son is a little older.

Today I spent a long time in my house, trying to find the paperwork for the boiler. Didn't find it. :( Stepping back in there for more than 30 minutes made me realise what a state the place is in. Tried to stop feeling negative about it but couldn't. Father told me I should be proud of my "home". :rotfl: Really don't want to go back now but know I'll lose Mrs K over this if I stay here.

On the positive side, my wife has agreed to have the money she's been taking in cash and putting into an account of hers into our savings account. Meaning that if we sell the TR, we have enough cash to sort the roof. :)

Well, spent the evening doing a bit of music teaching and planning some things to do with my son over half term which is less than a week away now. :D Really wish he didn't have to go to school and I could spend my time educating as I really enjoy that. On the MSE front, this half term is going to be very cheap and active.

Managed to not spend any money today. :) Completely forgot it was Shrove Tuesday until wife wanted to know why we didn't have pancakes. Had to then promise to make them tomorrow for her and son. :rotfl:

This morning was difficult but had a good afternoon and evening despite a terrible night's sleep. Got some work done and earnt some money, so at least that's something positive. Also spent some time sorting through 3 rooms in the house and starting to come to the realisation I need to go back there.

Not sure how to stop placing obsessive and unrealistic expectations on myself that only seems to drive my wife away, though. I've been thinking about some of the things someone posted on here the other day and wondering if it's my fault. Sorry for some of the things I've posted, I realise it makes me sound like some kind of spoilt Mummy's boy. :o

Alex I don't think any of us think it is your fault, but it is your responsibility to change, and only yours.

Thanks, Fay. I do understand it's my responsibility, how to change is a different matter. I manage to do so for a few days / weeks but then the problems come back, usually because I can't sleep or I start thinking about the past.

Today I've been a mess, didn't have a good night's sleep and had an awful morning. Realised some things I said to people today (other adults at voluntary school :o) either fell into being undiplomatic or arrogantly rude. Wife seems to think it's nothing unusual, don't know what's wrong with me, to be honest.

Spent too much on a pub meal tonight as I fancied an evening with my wife, away from my parents. No wine, the last thing I needed was alcohol. We talked about saving for this month as it's going to be difficult and agreed we're having a month off, apart from the £30 per week and if I manage to make any extra money.

It was nice to spend some time with her. :) This weekend I'm staying at the house with Mrs K and son is going to stay the weekend at my cousin's. We've a few things planned. This really isn't something we make a habit of but I'm really quite looking forward to spending a fairly quiet weekend with just Mrs K.

Just looked up the Dad's Army film. Both my parents are fans, I think I may take them to see it sometime soon. Thank you. :)

Not offended Alex, just thought maybe you'd had enough of me telling you off.

That's great news that you and MrsK are going to spend some time together (any significance in it being Valentine's Day;)) and good for LittleK to have a weekend away too.

Great idea to take your parents to the cinema. Maybe they'll get to enjoy it and start widening their horizons.

Half Term next week so all looking positive:).
