White vans parked all over the place

Start a 'bad parkers' website or FB page and post-up details of all the vehicles.
If they are liveried, then this may well embarrass the owners enough to do something about it.
Failing that, you can buy nails in bulk fairly cheaply these days and the boxes are not that well constructed, so may spill some of their contents on the road as you walk past the vans.Never Knowingly Understood.

Why are you so surprised to see activity from an industrial estate?
I like a quiet life so moved from the city to rural.
Why would I know complain that I am annoyed by all the trees and green and that the council should do something about it?
I think it is quite reasonable for the OP to expect vehicles owned by companies from the industrial park 300 yards away to actually park on the industrial estate. In fact I should imagine that it was a planning requirement that the estate owners had to make sure that there was sufficient parking on the estate. The firm obviously have premises totally unsuitable for the commission of their business.
I would complain to the council. They probably won't do much at first but a campaign will eventually lead to controls.0 -
Nope. Council's have all sorts of measures they can use. Permit zones, restrictions only at certain times of the day. They are very good at targetting only the people they wish to. eg no parking 4-5pm resident permit holders exempt.
Yes. You only need a restriction for one hour. DD lives near a road that was used by as a car park for London commuters so they could catch a bus to work. Now they have a restriction that only applies from 11.00 to noon but you can park there with a ticket that can only be purchased after 10.30.0 -
There are only two ways this will be resolved.
Either they are prohibited from parking there; or
They find it desirable not to park there.0 -
Edwood, just to advise we do live in a very nice suburb and the Industrial estate as recently been built.
We do have tree,s and grass verges just like you, aren't we lucky, the only difference is we have vans all over the place as well stopping us getting the luxury of seeing the tree,s and verges.0 -

If you are complaining the vans are an eyesore, you have just lost my sympathy. If you are saying it's causing a danger for you and your neighbours and preventing you from parking on your road then you have some sympathy0 -
The straightforward way to deal with this is to approach the Highways department - and also use your local councillor to support you (though elections cause some problems as they go into purdor and can't interfere for some weeks before elections) as officers tend to act far more enthusiastically to councillors than the public.
If they are damaging verges the council may be able to take action against specific vehicles and if they are parked outside the rules suggested in the Highway Code (e.g. on bends or junctions) then the police may intervene. If you see that sort of thing, ring 101 and have a friendly chat and the police may swing by on patrol and issue some warnings which may curb the excessively stupid parking.
It sounds like what is needed is a no parking for an hour or so at a particular time so that a van cannot be left without it falling foul of the restriction, but residents should be able to work around it, especially if they have off street parking.0 -
I usually pass a few SmithsNews delivery vans dropping newspapers off at shops on way to work at 5.30am. They all drive like morons so must be part of the job description. This and also that it must be a very low paid self employed job judging by the state of the vans so more drops they do the more they make.0

Take photos of any bad parking and send to the council and the company involved. The council may agree to implement parking restrictions if the problem is significant and enough people complain
And the people most affected by these parking restrictions will be the very same residents who are moaning now.
One step forward and 10 backwards I would say.0
