Once again, people on this forum just make it up as they go along.

    Nuisance parking is an offence.
If a proprietor of a business advertises cars for sale on the road they can be prosecuted by the council. On conviction they can be fined up to £2,500. The council may deal with the matter by issuing a £100 fixed penalty notice (£60 for early payment).

This offence targets people who run a business and use the road to store and advertise their vehicles. It is not intended to target occasional individual private sellers of single vehicles.

Seriously, it took about 2 seconds on Google to work out you're an idiot. Why do people post this crap? It's unhelpful and may well cause a huge amount of misery to someone putting up with anti-social behaviour from others.

As Mark Twain said, "Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt".
If we're going to be throwing quotes like that and words like "idiot" about, you may wish to point out where the OP suggested this business was selling their vans. Or, indeed, in Slough.

The other reason, of course, that the drivers can't take the vehicles home is that they would become liable for benefit-in-kind taxation.
  • For this company to operate they will have an operators license issued by the DVSA formally known as VOSA . The licence will have conditions on the number of vehicles and where they will be kept when not in use.

I would contact my local DVSA/VOSA enforcement team. Just explain what has been going on. Back it up with photos / video if you have any. Take a note of some registration numbers. VOSA will monitor the situation and if the company are in breach of their licensing conditions they will take action.
just because you are paranoid doesnt mean to say they are not out to get you

By making it up, are you including people that provide links that have absolutely nothing to do with the problem being discussed?

If you had bothered to read the web page to which you referred, you would noticed that the very first paragraph stated:
The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 introduced legislation to allow Councils to deal with people who advertise vehicles for sale or repair vehicles on a road. These are referred to as nuisance parking offences.
Perhaps you could point out where the op said that the vehicles in question were parked up to be repaired or advertised for sale.

    I stand corrected.

Either way the council can take action because they can paint double/single yellow lines and introduce parking restrictions.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

And it took about another 2 seconds on Google to work out that the quotation you gave has been attributed to both Socrates & Abraham Lincoln (amongst others) and a very similar phrase is also in the bible (Proverbs 17.28)

But there is a world of difference between what they can do and what they will do.

I used to live a couple of miles from Gatwick airport and the road I lived in was often used by holidaymakers as for free parking.
It wasn't uncommon to have card parked half on the road and half on the pavement or verge and despite reporting this to the council on many occasions, nothing was every done about it.

    Hi guys
I have just walked down to the unit and the road is actually gridlocked with 14 vans waiting to be loaded, the unit is at the end of the road in the estate so no through traffic.
I have just sent a full report to the local council with photo,s,also whilst I have been on holiday two of the vans were involved in a head-on collision at the traffic lights at the entrance to the estate, one jumped the lights which is a regular event

We live on an estate and about 300 yards away is a small industrial estate,

    Maybe that's your problem OP?

Why are you so surprised to see activity from an industrial estate?

I like a quiet life so moved from the city to rural.

Why would I know complain that I am annoyed by all the trees and green and that the council should do something about it?
