Morning all! Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh.
Maggie My ears pricked up when the fire at the Christie was mentioned on the news yesterday! Hope it won't affect you at all x0 -
There was no mention of it on the BBC 10oclock news so I don't know yet. It's a big hospital it takes patients from around the world.0

I think they said it was in an admin block and no one was hurt, and "very few patients were affected".
ETA BBC News website says it was in a cancer research unit but that the samples etc had been saved. http://http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-397300480 -
ivyleaf Then I don't think it will affect me as there are wards above the CT department and I am now back to the treatment centre so there are treatments above not offices. I don't have to go upstairs as I have my treatment orally at home.
My desk chair broke last night, a leg fell off it wont fix. I tried I*EA last night but they were off line. I am not very comfortable in an ordinary chair. I will have a good look round.0 -
Oh good (re treatment) nursemaggie. Sorry to hear about your chair. I always get backache trying to type or sew in an ordinary one.
We went to Ikea some months ago in search of a new workstation, and were disappointed to find that they no longer seemed to sell such a thing, just desks.
ETA Looks as if they have a couple of workstations now though. I wonder if a lot of folk pointed out to them that a lot of us still use desktop computers rather than modern small ones or tablets?0 -
ivyleaf, we are in the minority now. DS had a very big desk from them a couple of years ago.
I do get the impression people do not want just a small desk now. Even people who have desktops don't use them much they use their mobile phones.
I thought of I*ea because I know DS can put together their chairs. The one that just broke came from Mr M. I have it ten years at least. They tend to get them in in the Autumn.
I agree about the back ache so I cannot wait for them to get them in again. I think I have a fair amount in my A*azon account.0 -
If you feel up to it, it might be worth looking in Rymans - I see they have a branch in Bolton, or give them a ring to find out if they stock chairs in the actual store.
As you're petite it's not so easy to buy an unfamiliar one online
