My dining room table and 6 chairs have all left the building, along with my Andrew James food slicer.
A home has been found for the fish.
Someone also wants my 2 sofa's and my tumble dryer.
My house is looking empty, woohoo.

Yay! when are you hoping to move onto the boat again?
    Must use my stash up!

I don't seem to have anything at all interesting to say!

Feeling frustrated because I need some summer tops but can't find any tops I like in the shops, but I could perhaps make some, even though I haven't done any dressmaking for several years as I haven't been well enough.

But although I can buy a pattern and fabric locally, there is loads of "stuff" on the dining chairs that would need to be moved, in order to move the chairs and pull out the leaves of the table so it's big enough for cutting-out. I just don't have the spare energy.

I used to do the cutting-out on the floor, but I can't get down there these days :o

So I'm put off buying pattern and fabric as I know it will just end up joining the rest of the stuff on the chairs :(

Still, it's a lovely sunny day and a warm weekend in store :j

ySorry. I've not been around much this week. Ive had some dreaded lurgy that has been incubating in Pickle's nursery school - that well-known hotbed of infection. I do feel better but devoid of energy and depressingly prone to tears......not like me.

Anyway, Easter draws close. I delivered a basket of little knitted chicks to the Nursery School and they did look very cute. So cute in fact that I have had two or three mothers begging me to produce another dozen or so for them. That's my week taken care of then. Today DGS arrives for the holidays. We haven't seen him since half term so there will be great rejoicing all round. DIL and DS are taking the children to Cornwall for a week on Thursday. I was invited but offered to stay and look after the dogs instead.

    A week on my own! :j :T :rotfl:  :) :j  :T :rotfl: :D:D :rotfl: :T :j

Ivyleaf: I know exactly what you mean. I do have some tops but never seem to have one that quite fits the occasion, if you see what I mean.
I also used to do all my dressingmaking on the floor, cutting out and machining with my trusty old hand operated Singer. Like you, that was in the days when I could get down on the floor and, more to the point, get up again.
I also have more unfinished projects than you could shake a stick at.
Sigh........The Procrastination Fairy must have been hovering over me at birth.

Right. If I don't get a move on I will still be unshowered and undressed when DGS arrives.

I was down towards monna. We stayed in Winchester but spent 3 days at the Dockyard in Portsmouth. I did wave.

Glorious weather and fascinating history lessons - from Tudor to modern day. We didn't see everything we wanted to - as the tickets last for a year we decided to relax and not cram things in.

I feel so much better. Although I enjoyed the skiing holiday at the beginning of March I didn't come back feeling rested/relaxed, and the two weeks after that were just a nightmare. This time I feel well rested and certainly a lot calmer. I'm not sure it will last past Monday morning though.

Hester hope you had a successful trip back. What are you going to do about giving us our daily dose of Hestering when you are on board permanently? We are all going to be wanting regular updates on life aboard a narrow boat.

Monna I bet you can't wait until Thursday. I'm pretty much going to be running solo for the forseeable future. DH will be studying for exams so I'm pretty much going to see him for food and sleep. My time will be my own. As long as he's not too stressed and grumpy it will be a joy.

monnagran and FurryBeastOz So glad to hear you're on the mend and are both soon to have some time to yourselves :j

I went into the optician's yesterday to book my annual eye test and to browse the frames.
The ones that looked nicest on me were Pr@da ones that cost £300  Serves me right for trying them on. Somehow I don't think I'll be having that pair, though if I did I'm sure I'd be too embarrassed to admit it on here.

In any case they had a flashy silver logo on both arms. It seems very difficult to find plain frames these days without designer names.

I know you can buy glasses more cheaply online, but I have such an awkward prescription that it's not an option for me.

To be honest my lenses are so expensive that it seems almost pointless fretting about the price of the frames!
